AiE and the Future... · 6:45am Sep 11th, 2012

Well, thread 400 of AiE has come and gone. We had some wonderful things in that thread, and it got me thinking.

If AiE ever died (which I'm sure it won't; we have enough writers to last us for a while), would the rest of the authors migrate over to FiMFiction as well, and convert their stories to prose? Or would it be too much for them to handle?

I converted Chapter 1 of "Dystopian Anon" in about an hour and a half of serious editing. That is the typical time I set aside for writing >greentext every chapter I do. So if I can do it, it shouldn't be too hard for someone else to do it as well.

So I'm calling out to the writers of AiE; if you have a story you think would look good in prose form, convert it. If anything, to let it receive more publicity outside of 4Chan and Pastebin. The community here already seems to enjoy our stories, so it's fairly safe to say we've some common ground with them.

Plus, most "Human in Equestria" stories could really use a lot more depth than I've seen lately; and that's where we could fit in perfectly. This is what, in my eyes, FiMFiction needs; a break-away from the norm of the same old "Human comes to Equestria, meets ponies, they accept him, romance, waifu, clop, etc." that nearly every HiE story has on this website.

Literally, I went up to the search bar and clicked "Human" and read 8 random stories that came up. Nearly every single one had the same, linear storyline. I don't know about you, but I prefer to have a bit more variety when I read a story. Something that breaks away from the same old thing.

Almost every story in AiE that I have read has had some form of depth to each character, independent from others of the same genre. Each one is described and characterized differently, while still staying within the confines of the original personalities displayed in the show.

It is for this same reason that I announce that once I finish "Colors of a Rainbow" in >greentext form, I will be working to convert all of my stories from my Pastebin to prose, and posting them on here. I feel that, as a writer, it is my duty to provide this for those who read and enjoy my stories.

So, my readers, you can expect from me:

The continuation of Sonic Boom
Dystopian Anon
Colors of a Rainbow
Random one-shots
Clop

And, my favorite part: spaghetti. Yes, you will finally learn why I am known as the King of Spaghetti.

So eyes open, my readers, and prepare for content the likes of which you've never seen before!

The majority of the AiE stories on 4chan are usually much better than the HiE stories i see posted on FIMfiction, except for a few of them like human which is probably the god of all HiE stories.

I agree. And like I said, it's not all HiE stories that are bad; it's just the ones that are taking the same old cookie-cutter storyline, and pasting it into their own story. The only difference I've seen between the stories that I was using as an example (and I won't name any names of the stories) were the names used. Literally, they ALL had the same, linear storyline. No hiccups, no breakaways from the norm, nothing out of the ordinary.

Not saying things that aren't out-of-the-ordinary are bad, but when they are executed poorly, it's just... painful. :facehoof:
