So, I've finally gotten around to watching past season three (Who knew being a college student would have me this busy?). I'm all settled and making pretty good progress through Season Five, when I notice, in the opening sequence, Discord is in Fluttershy's house.

I'm sitting there thinking, "That's pretty cool!", when all of a sudden, there's what can only be described as The Doctor came on screen.... (Season 5 Episode 9, if anyone didn't where this came from.) .....suffice it to say I made a higher pitch noise than one you'd think a 6'5, 225 lbs, 19 year old male could make.

After I finally calmed down, I unpaused, and watched the rest of that episode. (I also realized that they really do use their voice actors for all their worth on this show.) As 'Princess Spike' started to play I thought I was in for a calm day, as I don't get surprised by a children's show that often....... boy was I wrong.

It took me a moment, when the arguing delegates (About a scheduling conflict.) came on screen, for me to recognize the accent (The, "dontcha know" is what made it click). I had to pause again and gasp as I said "CANADIANNNNNNNNNN!!!!".

As a Minnesotan, you don't hear something close to our accent on TV that often, so I was pretty happy. After chucking at sleepy Twilight (So going in the head cannon) I had to rewind and turn on closed captions to make sure I was hearing it right. "Whinnyapolis"

Whinny-apolis.

She just said Whinnyapolis.

My state is officially, canonically, recognized, as existing in the MLP universe. Aside from the writers needing a Minnesotan, and not Canadian, accent; that pony is spot on Minnesotan.

This is very good for two things. There's not nearly enough Minnesotans on TV now that How I Met Your Mother is off the air, and the comedy I've been trying to write about Minnesotan idiosyncrasies doesn't need to be a HiE to actually work now!!!

I think I've rambled long enough, now I've got an season to finish watching, a story to write, and scones to bake. (Chocolate Chip, for the curious out there.)

Transmission ending in....
