The Future of Bionics · 1:14am Jun 19th, 2016
Bionics, by definition, is the application of biological methods and systems found in the natural setting to study and design of engineering systems and modern technology.
More importantly it allows for the replication of systems found in nature with mechanical counterparts. For those ponies that caught a glimpse of the future where Equestria was at war with King Sombra, it was hard not to notice Rainbow Dash with the metal wing. Now this is not just some science fiction, but it is a real thing happening in the human world. While it is not readily available, bionic limbs have taken major leaps in the past few years alone.
Limbs thought to be forever lost are not being replaced with mechanical equivalents. And I'm not just talking about a hook. Many modern bionic limbs are fitted to send brain signals to the limb where it is transferred into code to make the limb behave like the fleshy part it replaced. And that is not all, scientists are making steps to send that signal back. Reports have shown that newly developed hands have shown that the recipient is able to have the sensation of touch again.
Looks like someone decided to sneak through the mirror to give Rainbow Dash a bionic wing.
