So I was reflecting back on what got me into the show in the first place. As a tyke, I never liked the older series of MLP (G1, G2, etc.). No offense to the ones that love those gens but well.... They freaked the living hell outta me back then! >.< I swear their eyes were going to spin in opposite directions like a horse possessed and it. Really. Freaked me out!!! That and I never really noticed them before.

Alright. So about 3, 4 years ago, I used to work part-time. had more time to sleep in catch some online play before heading off to the grind. Being full-time now, I can't really do that as much anymore. So back then, my mom and sisters would babysit our (then) newest baby cousin. When she was a tiny little thing, even I helped in caring for her.

As with everything, time passed and the little booger grew into a little hellion of a toddler (my words, momma and my sisters handled her like bosses X3) And I started noticing a song that would play for hours at a time. The volume would be cranked up, so I'd be able to hear it while in my room, playing. Never paid it too much mind.

One day I meander into the living room and see a colorful cartoon on the TV and my little cousin is flailing about, dancing and singing in that kid way where the words make sense only to the one singing it XD But she was singing in time with the cartoon on the TV. When I saw it, I thought it was a new PPG's cartoon (not really liking the new one so much, btw, but I still watch it...) so I asked my sisters what it was. Poor girls were as sick of the song as my poor mother, but it appeased the little one so it was a necessary evil at the time. And they tell me it was "My Little Pony", couldn't really remember what the rest of the title said. Incidentally, I though Applejack was male until I saw the end of the wedding. The song that had been playing non-stop was this song:

Back then, we had barely gotten the On-Demand box, so we replayed this song over and over again for our little cousin. Eventually, I got to finally see the full episode. And I found...I liked it! Kinda reminded me of the cartoons I watched as a tyke myself. So after watching the wedding episodes, I went back on the DVR and watched what was available. I think it was the entire first season and half of the second, if memory serves correctly.

So my very first...time, and the one that got me into the series, was the wedding episode. More like the song was what got me into it, the episode was just the frosting on the cake X3
