Entry #12- Rants & Thoughts about Season 6 part 1 · 5:38pm May 14th, 2016
I decided to post my thoughts of the episodes in sets of three (counting The Crystalling parts as one since they aired on the same day). Let’s jump right in:
The Crystalling parts 1 & 2:
I’ve been a StarBurst shipper since they revealed Starlight’s past. It was pretty silly that they didn’t try to write to each other, but Sunburst not being a important Magician was pretty obvious since no pony seemed to know him.
Also, I like Starlight’s new look, but why’d they change it? To give the little viewers a visual clue that she’s not evil anymore? Are bangs hard to animate, or are they just inherently evil? As someone who has worn bangs a good portion of her life, I find this insulting!
Finally, I still believe Celestia and Luna were born Alicorns. As we can see from the flag in the Heart’s Warming Eve episode, they were Alicorns BEFORE Equestria was founded, so it makes sense that Flurry Hearts is the first Alicorn born IN Equestria. Also, if Celestia and Luna were the last Alicorns born, then they would’ve been too young to understand how a baby Alicorn is raised.
The Gift of the Maud Pie:
Oh my Alicorn, Rarity, MAKE Pinkie Pie the darn bag already! How is commissioning it from a friend different from buying it from someone else who made it? They paid for their Gala dresses after all.
That being said, is Pinkie Pie going to get any alone time with Maud now that they’ve made Rarity a guest on future trips? I like hanging with groups of friends, but sometimes I just want some one on one time.
On Your Marks:
Are Tender Taps and Scootaloo cousins or something? Their color scheme seems very similar to each other…
Applebloom is a confirmed extrovert in this episode- not happy unless with other ponies. To be far, as the youngest, she’s probably used to having other ponies around all the time.
I can see how Applebloom was worried their friendship was ending- it can be a little upsetting when your friends’ hobbies appear to be differing from your own, and you start to have less in common. But that’s part of growing up- sometimes you just drift apart from those you care about. The friends you keep are the ones that you work to keep in touch with, and those are the ones that’ll “carry on through the ages.”
That’s it for this week. Hopefully next week I’ll have caught up with the current ones.
