A Pet Peeve Of Mine, If You Will

First, and rather not so subtly,

SEASON 6 IS HERE! OMIGOSHOMIGOSHOMIGOSH!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
*cue irrational spontaneous combustion due to unreasonable levels of hype*

Hehe, sorry.

Anyway, while this is now one of the best times of the year, now that the hiatus is over, it does bring back some things that aren't so welcome. I'm sure many of you have things not to look forward to regarding the new season, but I'd like to talk about one that is hated rather more... universally. Not, like some of you, the new Princess. Not, like some of you, Starlight Glimmer's reformation. Both of those things, I think, are positive additions to the show. This rant shall not be about those two things.

This is, rather specifically, about trolls in the comment section of Equestria Daily, who in every episode stream (or even in mildly related things), spew hundreds upon hundreds of snide remarks, intending to dumb down the new episode into something not worth watching. I'm sick of it. These bastards (and, unfortunately, there are more than one) are always down in the comment section, saying things like:
'The addition of Princess McHasbro is just a cheap scheme devised to make the big company overlords sell more toys. When are they going to write an actual story?'
(Though it must be noted, I have fixed this generic example to use proper grammar and spelling, as well as more interesting words and less colourful language. Most of these posts are unreadable for two reasons, not just the ridiculous subject they discuss).

Okay, it's one thing to give a review on something you've seen. Reviews are interesting, clever, well written and insightful things that look into an episode in depth, highlighting both the things that were done well and the things that can be improved on. However, it is a completely different thing - I repeat, IT IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT - to go through all of the spoilers and teasers released for a certain episode, and begin pushing a very negatively biased perspective on the certain matter. May I repeat myself again, VERY BIASED.

I have a feeling that if these people were around in the 60's, they would've said things like:
'Fucking NASA, spending millions of taxpayer's dollars to send a bunch of stuck up military guys to another world, educating millions and inspiring many more. Screw them! Why can't we have a documentary that explores, say, my own poetry? Let me give you a quick sample:
Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
NASA can suck my dick
And now, so can you!'

Make no mistake, I am one who can take criticism with ease. Even hurtful criticism is something I can deal with (although, because most of you are delightful people, I haven't had to. Yet). And yes, I understand that people are allowed to have different opinions from you, and that people can't take a liking everything that's thrown at them. Still, this serves as no excuse to constantly hate on something. And I emphasise the word 'constantly' with full intent.

Evidently, the wonderful staff at Equestria Daily (and I mean wonderful. To any of you reading, you do an absolutely fantastic job) have been taking matters into their own hands, by deleting the exact kinds of comments I've ranted about. While this won't stop the ignorant pricks from finding a way to post their bullshit, I am at least glad that action is being taken against the common menace. The one who we all hate. The troll.
