I am VERY upset right now · 10:49pm Mar 7th, 2016
I don’t know if any of you know this, but ‘Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life’ is my favorite book series of all time. When I heard they were making a movie, I was nervicited. I mean, these things rarely do well, but the trailer is out. Let’s pick apart everything wrong with it (In no specific order)
1. They are pronouncing Rafe like Rake, but if its short for Rafael, then it would be pronounced differently. But that could just be a nitpick.
2. THAT KID LOOKS NOTHING LIKE LEO ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
3. ‘No laughing’? No, no that most certainly was not a rule in the original book.
4. There is no way in hell this principal or any principal would just destroy art like that.
5. Why is the principal making those sounds in the beginning? Just why?
6. No A.V. Club? Then why was there one to begin with?
7. Another nitpick, but that was NOT the drawing Rafe made at the assembly in the book.
8. Oh hey there’s Bear, looking like a normal person. ARE YOU KIDD-
9. Yeah the post-it notes in the office, not in the book. Neither was the asian janitor.
10. Goo, bouncy balls, farting sounds over the P.A, not in the book.
11. WHERE IS MILLER THE KILLER, JEANNE GALLETA, AND MRS. DONATELLO?!
12. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, NO FACULTY MEMBER WOULD EVER, EVER, JUST SAY “Creativity is not allowed at the school” or some shit. YOU CAN’T JUST HAVE YOUR CHARACTERS SAY THAT! ITS SUPPOSED TO BE IMPLIED! THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT RELATE ABLE! NO ONE CAN RELATE TO THIS INSANITY! HAVEN’T YOU MONKEYS EVER HEARD OF SUBTLETY?! GOD!
Well, I think I’ve completed my CinemaSins quota for the day
