And Then There Was Blog · 8:36pm Aug 22nd, 2012
So. Trying this whole "blog" thing out. Suppose it can help me stick to my writing schedule if I post a bit about what I'm working on in a public place. Peer pressure and all that.
To Lead Them Home is up now. kvernikovskiy was kind enough to lend a piece for the cover art, though if you want to go looking, just know that a lot of the pony art and style is inspired by the Ask Pinkamena Diane Pie tumblr. Still quite neat, especially with October creeping closer.
As far as To Lead Them Home goes, I tried to make it very open to interpretation; I loved how each reviewer seemed to see something a little different in it. I also tried to cover every plot hole and loose thread I could, though I think some of the subtler points probably require a re-read to be seen.
I'm currently working on Whiteout's re-write. As spring came and went, it became more difficult to get my mind back in that ski lodge. I've gotten some big autumnal vibes recently, though, so maybe it'll be enough to bring Whiteout to a readable level. I'll keep the original submission as a bonus chapter too, sort of like how there's always at least one embarrassing photo of you as a kid in your parents' possession at any given time.
I suppose I should put a little teaser here for anyone who may be interested. Off-and-on, I've also been writing five new stories in addition to the two above.
One I'm particularly excited about has a bit of this and that with a slight creepypasta vibe. I'll likely have to aim for before or after October just to avoid the horror deluge for that time of the year, though I do enjoy writing for the season.
Another will need quite a bit of time and work, but I really want to do it justice. It's such a fascinating canon to pull from, but there's always the threat of predictability when borrowing other characters.
The others have much less substance to them right now, though every now and then I'll throw a new scene at them. I'll try to keep most of my productivity towards only two or three at a time, though, so that I'll eventually have something to post.
Welp, I suppose that's all for now. I love comments and critiques, so don't be shy to drop one by!
Thanks for reading!
