Tarot Draw: Luna

As it happens, the princess of the night is one of the easier ponies to do this for. Let's see what we know about her. Long ago, she became Nightmare Moon out of jealousy, and was banished to the moon for a thousand years. Upon returning and reforming, she regretted what little she had actually done as Nightmare Moon. Yeah, we all know how that guilt and regret built up to the Tantabus incident, but notice how she brought her mistake up in almost every CMC dream episode as well. All of this makes her a clear contender for one specific Arcana...and no, it's not the Moon.

Rather, she's a perfect fit for the Hierophant Arcana. There are two main traits that most Hierophant representatives share: age, and an obsession with the past. Luna has both in spades, and is by far the oldest Hierophant character I've seen. (The benefits of being an Alicorn.) Not only that, but her obsession with the past almost caused Equestria to be trapped in an eternal nightmare.

Still, her obsession's rather tame compared to the problems of equivalent characters in the Persona series. Ryotaro Dojima, from Persona 4, obsesses over his wife's hit and run death, spending as much time as possible trying to find the killer...all the while neglecting his only daughter, who means the world to him. Shinjiro Aragaki, from Persona 3, constantly punished himself for accidentally killing the mother of another party member, ultimately letting himself be killed to protect that person.
