I have come to a realization. I am simply incapable of writing.
To be more precise, what I mean to say is "I simply cannot write anything interesting." The old, well known, adage of "write what you know" is -- at least in my case -- not applicable to fiction. I'm technically inclined, to say the least, and my technical interests are rather varied. However, I have extensive doubts that a working knowledge of Digital Equipment Corporation minicomputers, IBM mainframes, and Western Electric Co. telephone switching gear would have any great application to fiction writing; especially pony fiction. Furthermore, whatever I do tend to write is usually far to rigid and dry to be of any interest for any length of time.
Of course this will not stop my attempts at writing anything; though, suffice it to say probability dictates most of it will never see the light of day.
