Martin Luther King Day · 4:14pm Jan 18th, 2016
Today's the day, MLK's Birthday.
I'm aware that it could be a bit touchy of a subject for some people, but I'd like to say that I really look up to him. He's such a role model, because of his work among many others, we have more equality,(the good type, not the bad Starlight Glimmer's type.) everyone can go to the same school, people can drink from the same water fountain, we can sit in the same place. We can now do many things because of many people's efforts, but Martin has done a lot.
With his words, he managed to move thousands to stick up for their rights, and to choose peace over violence. With his I have a dream speech, he showed how he wishes for people to be judged by their character, rather than what they looked like.
And now today's his birthday, while many people celebrate with parades, or kids and teens can get a day off from school, I want to show how much I appreciate his efforts, along with many other people's, for their fight for equality.
Yes, I'm aware that not all racism is abolished, I've actually experienced quite a bit of it myself. But this man helped us open our eyes to how much the world could be better if everyone was just treated equally.
There's a quote, that I've memorized by heart that Mr. King had said, that I try to follow everyday;
Darkness cannot drive out darkness,
Only Light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate,
Only Love can do that.
-Martin Luther King Jr.
So how about you my lovely followers? How do you feel about this day? How exactly do you feel about Martin and his efforts? And also, how's your day going? Well I hope.
Anyway, I'll end this blog post here,
Peace, Love, Tolerate,
-Candy
Yeah. I have school off today. I've been quoting Martin Luther King at school on Friday. One of my classmates said, 'Your not Martin Luther King!' I said, 'Well, that's that's a bit rude!' (I'm African American btw)
I am too, also did that too.3695260
This was really nice, if MLK could see this he'd be proud!
