to see its children down below
the winter season's blessed kiss
sings dreams of joy, of peace, of bliss
The people sit in church and square
With scarves, young men and ladies fair
To count the numbers down again
as Christmas creeps
Few are the greater gifts tonight
than warmth of family though it sound trite
To be with those who care and love
as spirit weary sleeps
But for us whose blood is far away
at least emojis can portray
with quiet longing, season's greetings
as Eve night turns into day
And that is still worth something
