5 Score Dissected pt 1

Ah, Five Score- the weird-ass TF clopfic that nevertheless was so popular that the staff had to quell the flood of copycats and fic-fics. If you haven't read it yet, do. Otherwise this won't make much sense.

The story starts off solidly, with a group of bronies celebrating their 25th birthday(the odds of this happening are 1 in 17 billion, but magic). One of them notices, as he undresses to shower, that he has a cutie mark on his thigh. Rainbow Dash's cutie mark. What follows is a pretty standard(if more plot driven) TF story, up until RD and Applejack arrive at AJ's big brother's farm. He tells them about his experiences at a farm fair in Chicago, which were far more public than RD and AJ's. This touches on the thing I love about the way this story handles the TF concept. AJ's brother turns into Big Mac-pretty standard as far as mechanics of the transformation-but this isn't like many TF stories, where the action happens in a basement, or medical lab, or sex dungeon. No, here the subject goes to see a doctor, and runs through the streets half-pony, ensuring many people see. This is important, I'll touch again on it later.

So after this, we switch to the second group, in vancouver. One of them is an average nerdy college student(oh god help they're throwing pandas at me), one of them is a really smart college student, and one of them is the unemployed bum who for some reason lives with them. Suffice it to say, shit goes down. We get our first hint when Purple Smart(aka really smart college student) uses magic, inidcating that this is more than just a biological change. We also learn about a cache of Equestria-related drawings and stories made by Purple Smart pre-ponyness, that inspired our prophet Faust to make FiM. Again, more than meets the eye.

I grow weary-there really needs to be a way to save blog post drafts. Oh well, stay tuned for the exciting conclusion.
