We've come a long way. · 8:16am Dec 1st, 2015
Wow, I joined this site back in June... and here we are six months later. And well, things are different, my art has improved, my writing has improved, and I have gained so many new friends from the experience. Let's take a moment to reminisce over the things that have changed if you don't mind... (please just let me have this one).
A sample of my writing from six months ago:
He facehoofed., “Well, why don’t you check?”
We were standing in front of the keep, and I pulled out my map. One of the smaller buildings in the keep compound was labeled barracks. Going there we found a large building with a field on one side, in the field were several strawponies. Opening the door, the overpowering aroma of sweaty stallion drifted out to greet me. I stepped inside and thirteen stallions formed a line in front of me. By line I mean blob, they were a completely disorganized mess.
“Here’s the army,” I said with a sheepish grin.
“Well… I guess it is,” he said rubbing his forehead worriedly, “Have you ever considered training them?”
“Nope, I didn’t even know they existed.”
“Understandable., Aat least we still get paid, so just go on forgetting about us,” one of them said waving a hoof at the door.
“FORM UP MEN, MAKE A LINE FACING ME AND SHOW ME YOUR PRIDE!” Ember literally screamed at them, like magic they formed a perfectly straight line in front of us, chests out, heads high as if they were fully trained soldiers.
“Ill just… go and… leave you to it, and get something for them to protect” I said, making a full on retreat towards town hall.
And a sample now:
I laid on my back in the cold forest leaves. It was mid-autumn and all the trees were a bright crimson color. A cold wind blew up below me, my guide was shivering.
“How much further do we have to go?” I asked, looking at her. She was curled up into a little ball, watching me sleep.
“F-f-f-ar” she responded, her teeth chattering, and her entire body shivering. It was at times like these that long fur comes in handy.
After a few moments I asked, “Are you alright?“ She nodded.
“Is there any kind of shelter down there?” She nodded.
“How long have I been out for?” She hesitated for a moment before answering, “Five.”
(I could have found other scenes but I like this one)

Oh and that's not even the best part! There are now nearly 50 of you poor souls that I am subjugating to this drudgery. Thank you for joining me on this wild ride that has been the last six months, and like always:
Flutter on!!
