Season 5 Finale Thoughts. · 8:33am Nov 29th, 2015
If you didn't watch the finale yet don't read this blog to avoid spoilers. Anyway here we go. Get ready cause this will take a while. You might wanna get a snack or a drink.
I have to say this finale was probably the most intense and most game changing of all of the 5. But why is that? Starlight Glimmer returns! To be honest when she escaped into the cave in the premiere, I said to myself "That's it? She is defeated just like that? No way. I am not having another Sombra incident in where we will never see or hear of her again." 
But we did see her again. Though this time she has a time travel spell in her arsenal... Umm... This is gonna be one hell of a ride. We see her and Twilight go through the portal to the past and possible future. We see that Starlight is trying to prevent the Sonic Rainboom from happening... Ok so you are gonna try to prevent an event that saved Equestria and probably other Nations from Nightmare Moon, Discord, Queen Chrysalis, Sombra, and Tirek... Congrats Starlight, you just caused the end of the world! Have a Cookie. 
Twilight of course Tries to stop Starlight from disrupting the past and cause the alternate future to happen. Twilight is then thrown into the time portal again into the possible future is she doesn't stop Starlight's goal. We then see the other Mane 5... and they are like natives or cavemen... or caveponies... How does that work?! 
But hey Zecora is back, so good enough for me! So Twilight explains to Zecora and the others on why she must stop this from happening. Then, the Changelings arrive... Yay! They're back! 
Twilight then rushes back to the table, map thing... and goes back into the portal... and there goes the Changelings... it was fun while it lasted... Twilight goes back to where ever Starlight is and clashes in a magic duel... and it is Awesome! 
It even shows that they are completely even in power. Huh who knew that Starlight was that talented? Plus really Rainbow? Watching them fight while eating popcorn? That's Pinkie's Job!
So anyway Twilight is then thrown into the portal again. This time into the future in where Nightmare Moon rules over Equestria... I have to admit, those armor designs are badass. Twilight goes back again, and Starlight throws her back into the portal again... This is getting a little repetitive... Now we go into the future in where Tirek is destroying Equestria... Moving on. Now Twilight goes back AGAIN, and "surrenders" to Starlight... 
Umm... Wow... Starlight you defeated Twlight in a battle of magic... Starlight then opens the portal again but this time Twilight drags her into the portal... Convenient! But at the same time I did not expect that. Then, they appear in a dark wasteland... Starlight then sees on what would happen if she stops the Rainboom from happening. Starlight then brings Twilight to her past and her hometown. We then see why she wants to get rid of all cutie marks... Cause of one friend leaving her because of he got his cutie mark before her, and was sent to Canterlot... Damn... Now I feel bad for her... They could of been a great canon shipping... Ahem, Moving on! 
She then steals Twilight's Saddle Bag and attempts to rip the scroll of Starswirl. WHEN ARE WE GONNA GET SOME EXPLANATIONS OF STARSWIRL AND HIS PAST?! 
Twilight tries to persuade Starlight to not rip the scroll and make new friends. This scene shows Starlight's fear of another friendship ending. Though some friendships will break and some will not. But you won't know until you start one. Starlight then accepts this and they go back into the present. They then have a little talk with the others and then a song to end the episode. Plus the moral is great for everyone.
This episodes shows the a lot of things like changing the past, seeing the possible future and what might happen when someone loses that one friendship they hold dear. In the end this finale has my approval of best season finale ever. 10/10
