Ideas that would never come to be (4/1/2020)

Since I have now taken a significant step back from the MLP:FiM fandom, I thought it would be a fun idea to post my list of stories that I'd had in the works. These stories were either abandoned altogether and never written, or were forgotten about before or during the editing process.

Random Blog Entry #2 - Seasonal Hiatuses and Other Things

I thought I would make this post in regards to John de Lancie's twitter post from the other day, in which he mentions that the gap between Season 5 and Season 6 could potentially be a year long. This of course put a lot of people up in arms over having to wait that long to have their precious ponies on TV again.

Random Blog Entry #1 - About Sonata vs Tacos (And Other Things)

About the story mentioned in the previous post
OK, so I have posted my first story and no it was not the one I was talking about in my previous blog that I posted early last year.

    New Story Coming Soon

No one is watching me on here, so no one is going to see this at all, but I just want to put this out there anyway and say that I am in the process of writing my very first fan fiction. It's about something I haven't seen before, so I don't think it's been done yet. (I might be wrong).

Random Blog Entry #2 - Seasonal Hiatuses and Other Things · 10:01pm Nov 14th, 2015

I thought I would make this post in regards to John de Lancie's twitter post from the other day, in which he mentions that the gap between Season 5 and Season 6 could potentially be a year long. This of course put a lot of people up in arms over having to wait that long to have their precious ponies on TV again.

My thoughts however were not of rage or disgust for Hasbro or DHX. My thoughts were exactly the opposite. I'm glad they take their time making these seasons, I'm glad to hear they aren't going to rush, and air S6 this March or sooner.

My reasoning for this is this: If they take their time in producing a season, and take over the course of the year, the quality of the show is better, the writers, artists, animators, and all the other show staff have more time to work, and everything just works better. I think I can speak for the entire fandom when I say I know everyone wants good quality pony, and not over rushed, bad quality crap that would come out if they were to shorten the hiatus down to only a few months.

Production time and the quality will always be a big difference between an admirable, perfectly written animation, and an animated atrocity. (Oh look, I made somewhat of a reference to Mr. Enter.)

Vince Gilligan said that the reason the hiatuses between seasons in his shows (Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul) are so long, is for this same reason, they want to make the show as good as humanly possible, and they can't do that with only a few months. Gilligan likes QUALITY over quantity. That's the way it should be.

You never want to rush anything anyway, so why would you want to rush your favorite cartoon?

I honestly get tired of seeing comments on Reddit, EQD, and the like, only to see hatred and anger towards Hasbro and/or DHX in threads and posts about how long the hiatus MIGHT be. People really need to remember that the longer the hiatus, the better quality the show will be. They also need to stop thinking people are going to leave and stop watching during these long breaks. If they are a true fan of the show, they'll stick around no matter what. That's what matters. There will be those who ditch out, but they just get to miss out on all the S6 AWESOMENESS that I'm sure is to come.

Of course John's post is only speculation, it doesn't sound like even he knows for sure, but if it is a year long, I'm all for it. There's more than enough fandom material, fanfics, videos, music, art, and whatever else this fandom puts out to keep me entertained for a year.

If it's not going to be a year long hiatus, then I guess that's good news too? More Pony YAY!

As far as my stories go, I have lost all motivation to write recently. This is probably because I've recently learned how to play Magic: The Gathering, and have spent most of my time playing that and deck building for it. It's become a bit of an addiction. All of my friends with the exception of maybe one play it, so you can see where my time goes. I do try to work on my writing when I can, but without the proper motivation it's very hard.

Thanks for reading.
