    About latest story...

I originally planned The Lightningverse during summer of 2013 (as that was when StarryOak first posted the idea). I didn't actually start publishing it until January this year.

So, since I have posted a new story, I'm planning on talking about it and what's to come. The current story, "A Friend Not Worth Having", only has one more chapter to post (which I haven't started on yet). It's going to be from Rainbow Dash's perspective (as the penultimate chapter was from Discord's).

So, since I have posted a new story, I'm planning on talking about it and what's to come. The current story, "A Friend Not Worth Having", only has one more chapter to post (which I haven't started on yet). It's going to be from Rainbow Dash's perspective (as the penultimate chapter was from Discord's).

A Discord-centric story was probably a good idea, as there were a ton of jokes I wanted to get out there, and what better character to use than Discord? The idea for the story was something I came up with after S5E7. Part of it was also because two morals of the show that stood out as among the strongest are that Griffon the Brush Off and Boast Busters, the latter of which taught me something (no other episode has done that). I guess you could call Discord the main protagonist and Trixie the antagonist. Rainbow Dash is... whatever the word for secondary protagonist is.

Twilight's introspection at the start was something that took quite a while to get down, but eventually, I decided to think about what Twilight would think about each of her foes and got them down realistically (as realistic as you can get from Twilight's POV).

There's an injoke when Spike is writing to Sunset Shimmer (Every brony wants Sunset to return to Equestria... but I don't really like that idea). There's also quite a bit of cartoonish violence in the next chapter. There's not going to be anything gory. I'm not going to limit the viewers by raising the teen rating.

Rainbow Dash's chapter was originally going to be first, but I got kind of lazy with Twilight's explanation for why she brought Trixie to the castle, so I decided to write Discord's chapter first. Plus, I needed to actually start living up to that comedy tag. But all the action starts in Rainbow Dash's chapter, so I cut Discord's chapter short.

I'm not sure why I included that character analysis of Rarity. I guess I just needed an excuse for Discord to go to Canterlot before going to the Crystal Empire. You see, I originally planned for Discord to talk to Celestia about Twilight's problem, but it would make the reader wonder why he went to Canterlot before going to the Crystal Empire. So that's why Rarity was analyzed. Plus, I like that red herring with Sassy Saddles. I then felt like it was a cop out to just have Celestia lecture Twilight about bringing Trixie and snubbing Discord as opposed to Twilight learning her lesson. Also, originally, Twilight sucking the awesomeness out of Dash actually did make her cry, and they stopped pranking after that, but I then started to think that Rainbow Dash was made out of tougher stuff than that, and I didn't want to end things on a sad note with them stopping the pranking. So I opted for answering the question of why Dash's home comes nowhere close to matching her attitude by doing something more in-character for Dash than bawling just because Twilight dissected her name.

Spike's moment was added just for the sake of transitions. The thing with Sunset Shimmer isn't going to go anywhere.

The insult match between Trixie and Rainbow was something I planned to include at some point in any given story. It was originally concepted as being between Rainbow and AJ, but that last one doesn't sound like something I'd say to any of my friends. It was then changed to be between Rainbow and Gilda, but Trixie came into the picture and fixed everything. The "you'll never be the man your mother is" insult was originally going to be said by Rainbow Dash, but I figured it probably wouldn't affect Trixie since Trixie is female.

Looking back, the girlfriend thing wasn't funny, but someone thought it was, so I left it in.

As for the next few stories, here's what I have planned:
--A short redemption fic for Starlight Glimmer (hoping to get it out before the finale airs).
--A lengthy, ongoing fic which I won't reveal much about.
--A sequel to that fic.
--A sequel to the sequel.
--A clopfic.
--A Trixie/Gilda clopfic.
--A story about the Rainbooms (pre-FG)
--Anything else I could randomly come up with.
