oh man Nightmare Nights was good

oh my god I have met so many incredibly chill people. I am reeling from how awesome this con was. Man, I don't know if I'll ever come down from this high. Have you ever seen something as adorable as David Silver GMing Ponyfinder for a table full of kids? Have you ever moshed your face in getting to watch Wootmaster, the Wonderbolts, DoTheDaringDew, and Steel Chords, or raved to the DJing of the legend that is Eurobeat Brony? Have you ever had your ride home from a convention disappear on you, leaving you stranded and shit out of luck in Dallas, Texas, only for you to by some ridiculous miracle of chance run into some glorious motherfuckers the minute before they leave the con to drive back home in the very same direction you're going? Joining some random dudes you just met for a zany, bi-as-fuck road trip adventure is a damn fun time.
Vivid Syntax, you're an inspiration. clopandcircumstance, my brother, may we ship FlutterDash 'til the day we die. Zyrian, you missed out on the most hard-and-fast card-trading session you've ever seen; you'd better have those cards to swap next time we meet, and you'd better not turn out to have been holding out a foil Rainbow Dash on me. Massive shout-out to the dude who brought Buck: Legacy, and to the rad gal who brought Pony Monopoly: Next con, I will find you, and I swear to you I will get in on a game.
It's been real, all. And y'know, man, for all the hero worship and fanboying I do over some of these horse famous people, chilling with them at a room party just watching Rick and Morty and sharing fic recs really drives home the lesson that no one's some kind of higher being to be put on a pedestal and genuflected before; every one of us is just a new friend to be made over a shared belief that pony should pony pony. (And that even goes for our our Guests of Honor! Ishi Rudell was just hanging out and playing Magic: The Gathering with my roommate, if you can imagine that! )
