The Martian is pretty good · 1:55pm Oct 10th, 2015
To tell you guys the truth my expectations was a bit low for this movie. It just that the last time I saw a movie that deal with space "drama) ( not on the line of Sci-fiction but more "realistic science")was 'Gravity', let just say it was really boring and just leave it at that. Anyways, I thought the same for The Martian but was proven wrong ( maybe it have to with the writing being so much better than Gravity.). But it is definitely a must see! And that i am going to say about it before I spoil anything. I am planning on reading the book aspa.
Now here is a random photo of Yahtzee with the Mane Six
The book is really good. I finished in about a week and a half, while having to get through school. The movie is the most faithul conversion of a book that I've ever seen, being a very close second to Game of Thrones Season 1(season 2 really diverged from the books). They just left out a few scenes that I believe will be in the unedited cut, and got very few details wrong (Mark WAS wearing a mask when he blew up making water, it was just one of those non-airtight ones.)
It is one of those stories where reading the book helps the jokes and character development when you watch the movie. And you know you are in for a good read when you learn that the movie was released just 4 years after the publishing.
3457074 I DIDN'T know it was based off a book until a few days ago ( even before I watch the movie.). I would have read the book before I watch the movie but, I am already reading two books at the moment ( The Sword of Summer, and Strange Fates) plus My book Excel for Dummies for my Excel class. But I am planning on reading the book. I don't mind change when it comes to adaptation ( both to movie/ Tv/ anime) I am kind of flexible to the changes. I think it's okay to change some things, as long as the changes make sense. I think i know what part of the book you are talking about( about the Mark). Yeah as someone who is book reader i was surprise i never heard of the book until now ( it rarely happen, trust me I just found out a few weeks ago that both Jaws and psycho were book before they were movie e-e).
