Episodes 5 and 6 - Published

Okay...

Hello my dear readers once again!

This time, I finally can report you about the finished versions of the Episodes 5 and 6 of 'The Halcyon Days'!

First off:
Please don´t be shocked by the word count!
Episode 5 is a very short one with 2000 words, because it´s not a real episode like I mentioned in my previous blog, but just a small piece of the big puzzle between Halcyon Days and Rising of Destruction.
There, we will see how the villain of this story emerges and also shows the first time the book which plays a rather big role in Rising of Destruction.

The relation between the two stories is very big in these two chapters anyway. We see familiar villains and also see a developement of the friendship between Twilight, Bleach and Silverleaf, primary between Twilight and Bleach.

Episode 6 with its 11.000 (yes it´s five-digit) words is my, till now, biggest chapter ever. Tough, if you want my oppinion, it´s not my best chapter ever. There are a few scenes, especially the fighting scenes I´m still unsure about but didn´t find anything to make them better.
Maybe I´m just lacking experience in writing one-on-one-action scenes...

Anyway, to give you a very small summary: This is the episode where Bleach should get his cutie mark.
But don´t worry, as announced, he´s not all the time in the timelight.
Of course we also see the mentioned villain and some familiar characters of Rising of Destruction.
And, like promised, though there is a villain, the episode shouldn´t be too dark to ruin the vibe and ambience of the previous chapters.

Also I promised to involve Shining Armor and Cadence in the story...and I kept it.
Shining´s role in this episode isn´t even the smallest.

But anyhow, I want to point out some things in the two episodes.

First: Episode 5 begins with a quotation of one of my favorite fantasy bookseries: Pandeamonia. I didn´t change the title of the mentioned books 'Phönixfeuer' and 'der letzte Traumwanderer'. I just translated them into english.

Der letzte Traumwanderer--->The Last Dreamwanderer
Out of this book are also some big relations in Tale of Dreams and Nightmares. The City of Souls (german: Stadt der Seelen) is an idea I had from the book but changed its structure, mode of operation and natural laws of magic.

(EDIT: I finally noticed I forgot something very important, at least important to me:)

Thank you very much for all the inspiration your books gave to me, Sir Christoph Lode!

Second: The colt in the episode embodies my love to the world of fantasy and imagination. I love to dream like him and to let my mind roam.
It´s really sad that we can see his true face only for such a short time...

Third: I tried myself at riming in Episode 6.
There is a scene where the villain sings a small aria. The idea for it came to me during thinking about the scene shortly before I wrote it. I had some words in my head an thought it would be funny and a good practice of writing english rimes. If it turned out good or not, I don´t want to judge.

Fourth: I simply want to thank the two songs I mentioned in my previous post. They were a great inspiration for this episode!

So, that´s all for today. My next project is the next part of Tale of Dreams and Nightmares and, after that, the next part of Rising of Destruction.

And after that, I´ll take a small break from writing in combination with my vacation.
