i'm just a brony who has been reading fics on this site for quite some time. im hoping that some of the ideas i have for fics can come to fruition here. because unfortunately every time i get an idea for a fic i basically get side tracked. but hopefully if some people notice this and maybe push me to open up my Word program and put some of these thoughts to text. and i'll probably be looking for someone to proofread what ever works i come up with so if you or someone you know is a decent proofreader please feel free to PM me.

I'd offer to proof-read, but alas my plate is rather full right now. 
I'm already somepony's editor, and I have a new fic readers keep asking me to write more chapters for. 
But I'm always happy to encourage a fellow writer! Not sure if I can recommend anyone to be a proof-reader, but I can see what I can find out.

well thanks alot for that push. hopefully one of these nights this week i can put down a quick one page of one of my ideas. and if enough people like it then i suppose il make it a longer story.
maybe i should keep my pocket notebook with me again to write down any ideas that come to me while i'm at work.

I keep a stash of 3x5 cards in my lunch bag at work. That way when inspiration hits (even at work) I can jot it down over lunch. If it hits while I'm at my machine, I just use the pen in my pocket and jot the idea down on some scrap paper.
Oh and as for a proof-reader. I checked with a friend of mine and can recommend you to - HenryAnthonyCourtler. He said he'd be happy to proof read for anyone.
Oh and just one friendly tip - Make sure whatever you write is at least 1,000 words (preferably more) when you post it. Many readers tend to frown on super short stories and chapters. And from what I've personally observed, the short length does tend to make things seem rushed. Good luck to you! I'll be your first follower! Then when you post something, I'll know about it!

thanks alot bro. im hoping to write a short beginning to a self-insert HiE story but im not sure if thats how i want to start writing stories. i've seen some people not really like self-inserts. but those are the only ideas i have. well besides maybe a rare idea for a PoE story.
maybe i'l just write one anyways. i mean nothing ventured nothing gained i suppose. right?

Now, my advice to you however, is to make and OC and loosely base them off yourself. Change their name, modify their appearance a little, etc. This way it won't look like a self-insert. But if you chose to do a self-insert, make your character believable. No Godly powers, don't have every pony fawning over him. It's okay if some are dare I say drawn to him or want to be his friend. It also helps to give a self-insert or an OC imperfections (say a fear of heights just for an example), it makes them easier to relate to. But regardless of what you chose to write, I'll be happy to read it once it's out! OH and if you opt to do a self-insert but make yourself a pony. Please don't make yourself an alicorn. Sooooooo many bronies have done characters like that to the point that it's now officially cliche. And they usually make their alicorn OC super powerful and a devil with the mares. Just some more friendly advice to you! And don't think I'm trying to scare you off, no, just want you to be prepared.

Writing a story is great! I for one don't mind self-inserts, in fact I've written my share of assorted anime series self-insert fics. Now they were never shared of course, but it's hard to resist putting yourself directly into a story or show you really like. MLP is no exception.

well i must say even with the ideas i've been having i'm sure i would'nt make any silly mistakes like making an un-beatable chactor. i would basically put all my little imperfactions into my said chactor. Also i would'nt make him a total ladies man. i would make him be just like myself like how i would be in real life. i've been giving serious condierations to about 2 or three of my ideas. once i fine tune them a bit i'll post the first chaptor and see what people have to say about it. and thank you very much for the staches.
