I have lots of ideas, but couldn't write a story if my life depended on it. Horse prompts can be found here.

    Need help finding a story

I'm pretty sure I once read a story where Sweetie Belle dies and ends up in Tartarus, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Did it get deleted or is my mind playing tricks on me?
Edit: It was indeed deleted. Thank heavens for FIMFetch. https://fimfetch.net/story/8837/sweetie-belles-drop

    Slave stories?

I have a very broad taste when it comes to fanfics. Anyone aware of any good slave stories?

Note: With 'slave' I mean someone forced to work (sometimes under harsh conditions) without pay.

    Misery and innocence

Anyone aware of more stories in this universe? So far, I've only been able to find 'Sides of the same coin' and 'Sides of the same coin: Conclusion'.

The biggest pieces of advice I can give to you, on how to become a better author is, and this sounds dumb, but it works, us a thesaurus when you write. So often when we write things, we fall into ruts where we just use the same word to describe something common (said, ask, run, walk, look, ect). A thesaurus will help you find different ways to say it, and will also expand your vocabulary so you learn new ways of describing things, which leads to my next piece.

Describe the crap out of everything you can. Why? Because the more you do that (with in reason) the more you will pull in your reader so they become immersed in the story.

Piece three? With characters, make them realistic and relate able. As fun as it is writing about a super guy, it's hard to pull that off and make people like him/her. If you can make a character we relate to, we'll care about that character. The more we care, the more we invest in the story, so when it hits the fan, we hold our breathes hoping that the character pulls through.

For villains, it's kinda the same. Make that person someone who seems real, that you would see walking down the street, and give them the mentality that they are always right and the the world owe them (or something like that) and have them say it in a way that's not only insulting to the protagonist, but to us as well, because we relate to the good guy.

These are just a few helpful tips I've picked up that actually help write a story, and that's not the complicated "write what makes you feel uncomfortable" (That comes later) kind of thing. Hopes this helps.

Hmm
Study.

If you're making a book set in the late 50's, make sure you study and take notes on everything in that decade.

3363083 So what you're saying is that the story pretty much comes to you? In that case, you won't believe how many stories I've scrapped.

3364157 But that's the point. I already know what to write about, I just don't know how to carry on from there

3364927 If you're still willing to help, I think I have an idea now. It's pretty much done, I just need to flesh it out. Shall I send you what I have so far?

3397184 I understand. I'll drop ya a PM.
