Discord. I don't despise him, but like Q in StarTrek - this character is like a strong spice and it is easy to get too much - especially in fandom.

Fleetfoot (because cute), Derpy Hooves (I politely refuse to call her Muffins) , Vinyl Scratch (more the fandom depiction than her silent appearance in the show)
4. Least fav background pony?
Maybe Snips and Snails; Because they could be cool - but they just started on the wrong hoof.
5. Fav Mane Six member?
Rainbow Dash - just because her first appearance. Her bouncing on the cloud and her laughing was just way to cute to resist.

Hm. None. I like them all more or less; it depends strong on what I read about them or which episode. Every one of them has their moments.

Applebloom, Scootaloo, Sweety Belle, Babs (in this order)

Season 5 has to date really fine episodes; but I like episodes from every other season - so: hard to tell.

Season 3 - it was just too short. Besides this, some episodes were really fun.

Princess Spike - a whole character development wiped away in a single episode.

Propably the S4 finale. It is solved with violence and just more power instead of wits and cunning.

Chrystal Empire maybe - but this was also a good one. I didn't like the S4 finale - because, too much action and violence. I would have liked if the ponies had solved Tirek by wits and cunning and not more DeusEx-power.

In the show "The Smile Song" and the "This Day Aria"; in fandom: Glade/Wooden Toaster and Mic the Microphone "Nightmare Night"

Some of the German versions of the show's songs. *shudder*

Queen Chrysalis. Because she was a genius with a nearly fool-proof plan. Watch the episodes: She didn't loose because the heroes were better - she lost due to a plot-device.

Sombra. Because there was no reason, no character. Just stairs.
25. Like Equestria Girls?
It wasn't great but quite nice. Liked Sunset Shimmer and lots of the fandom around it.

Not sure if it was better or less good than EQG. I liked some of the songs. (Hey - the baddies had the better music after all)

The ones who just run around unnerve everybody with 'join the herd'. Guys - it is a hobby after all and no religion! A lot of flak the fandom gets comes from annoying fanboys annoying not-fans.

Scootaloo is an orphan. Pinkie is a sociopathic killer - and anything along this lines.

Nowacking. Really. EP 100 Vinyl Scratch was the single biggest missed chance in the whole show.

With this setup? None I think.
But this is just it. Normally our heroes save the day by wits, getting the right idea, sometimes with self sacrifice. But this was just like a DragonBall Z episode.
I think they should have set it another way. With a weak spot. Maybe with summoning Tireks brother to convince him finally to give up. I don't know myself. But this way just felt a bit meh to me.
The episode isn't really bad, as in "I loathe this episode" it's just one of the least favorite episodes of mine.

A strange statement, considering our heroines are exceptional dimwitted at times. To be honest, most of the villians were defeated by Deus Ex Machinas or their own arrogance.

Ok.. maybe not really wits - but good hearted actions.
They didn't beat the dragon in Dragonshy (aside from Rainbow Dash) but Fluttershy stared him away with tough kindness.
They weren't successful by using violence against the Manticore. They didn't use violence by dealing with the Ursa Minor or Cerberus.
All in all they solved the problems without using violence. And this statement, or this morale in the show is one thing I greatly appreciate.
So the Season 4 finale felt a bit off - at least for my taste. This, however didn't mean I didn't enjoy this. But it is the least favorite finale. I even liked Best Night Ever more than this, because this one had a better message (you may chase dreams and succeed - or not - but you succeed in an case if you stay true to your friends. VS If some big ugly monster is levelling your home, make a nice Rainbow BBQ out of it.)
3333581 You're forgetting the fight scene in Canterlot Wedding- Part Two. And the manticore and the dragon weren't extrordinarily powerful demons.

Ok. You have a point with the Canterlot Wedding-Fightscene. But after all, this fight didn't resolve anything. If anything it showed Chrysalis's cunning strategy.
Permanent weakening attacks in the streets, while the main part of the army awaited the exhausted heroes at their goal.
And in opposite to Tirek, who was all revenge and destruction, Chrysalis had a reason for her acting as well as a very good plan.
And yes - Canterlot Wedding was solved by a plot-tool. So the resolve wasn't that good.
But what made this two episodes for me was following: The writers did Chrysalis so well, that they wrote themselves in a corner. Without a deus ex machina on the heroes side, Chrysalis would have won the battle.
And this was quite funny.
