My Literary Hunker-Down Program · 9:23pm Jul 31st, 2012
For far too long I have failed to bring you updates in my words. In fact, after some analysis, shortskirtsandexplosions (my favourite author ever) is 60x more prolific than I, and s/he has an actual life to balance! Thus I introduce MLHDP, which is my agenda to fit in at least five hours of uninterrupted writing time a day for about a week. Seeing how I tend to be up for 16 hours a day anyway, that shouldn't be an issue. I suppose my main crutch is procrastination. But I know that once I get a muse struck and that first 500 words down, which are very easy for me, I can complete at least half of my upcoming short-story repertoire by the end of the agenda.
I'd also like to introduce Ping's Rules of Writing. These are undeniable facts that come from headcanon that cannot be defied, and must be followed in all of my fics. I strongly suggest you follow them as well. These may be updated if other ideas are adopted.
1. Apple Bloom is to be abused and miserable for comedy's sake.
2. Fluttershy is to have an (or several) innate mental issue or tragic past leading to PTSD.
3. Pinkie is a living art gallery of standard psychologic events (grief, existential crisis, etc.), only fifty times amplified.
4. Rainbow Dash is deathly afraid of the ground, water, and basically everything not found in Cloudsdale. Is also xenophobic and elitist.
5. Twilight's first reaction to any issue is to analyze, even if a human falls out of the sky. No compassion, just notes and books.
