Hello dear readers, and welcome to another installment of "Blogs with Thespurgin." 
Tonight, we will be making a short series of statements and questions to be directed at you, my honored guests, in a desire to gain some insight and feedback regarding my late apparent inactivity.
First of all, despite the rumors I suspect to be floating around, I am in fact not dead, and neither is Dark Horizons. I openly apologize for the incredibly long delay, but a multitude of reasons I will not go into right now combined to lead to a much greater delay than I'd expected. In my defense, I have been making progress on it, and it is currently close to twice the length of the first chapter, so whatever. It happens.
That being said, I have had some discussions with a few individuals who have recently made some interesting suggestions in regard to alternative methods of circumventing my repeated delays and writer's block. They are, respectively:
- To start a second story of a strongly different genre compared to my first, to switch off with when I find myself creatively stonewalled. In regards to this, I have considered an attempt at shipping, and I have a rough plot already lined up. My question is, anyone think they can handle an amateur shooting for a romantic GildaMac fic? 
I seriously plan to try it at one point or another, regardless of opinion, but I was wondering if you would like me to shelve it for the time being and focus on Dark Horizons?
- The other suggestion that was made was, after a couple revelations about my writing style, to convert my fics into branching-path stories, or "chose your own story" style fics. I admit, I'm a bit incredulous about this one. It sounds like fun, but at least in the case of my current fics, the serious tone would probably be mortally wounded if I did something like that. As-is, I'd probably end up using the style on a later fic for experimentation. I just always avoided those kind of styles because to me they lack the seriousness of single-path stories. Anyway, you guys think I should try that? If so, should I try it with Dark Horizons or wait for a better testing ground?
In addition to these things, I have recently come to think on the topics of pen name and ponysona, and am considering doing something about them. Unfortunately, I am a complete newbie when it comes to pen names, and only have a tiny bit of lead with a ponysona, so any suggestions and/or assistance in this matter would be appreciated. All I have right now is a race.
Lastly, I am considering making cover art for Dark Horizons How do you guys feel about that?
I would be deeply gratified for any comments or questions on these matters, and furthermore, if anyone has questions up to and including minor spoilers in the upcoming chapter, ask away. You guys deserve a bone for waiting so patiently, so what's a couple glimpses to me?

262268 Oh I'm sure it will come (especially once you've started getting a shit-ton of wathers, y'know?). It'll happen... but I'm going to be honest with you. It almost never happens right away unless you've got people folowing you from somewhere else, y'know?
