A message to Anime fans · 5:31pm Jul 28th, 2015
As I've mentioned in older and most likely newer posts, I love Anime. If any of you could give me suggestions on what would be good for me, I'd appreciate it. I'm still new to it.
Here's what I've already watched:
Attack on Titan,
Clannad, (series)
Death Note,
Spirited Away,
Princess Mononoke,
Paprika,
My Neighbor Totoro,
Howl's Moving Castle,
Ponyo
and The Secret Life of Arietty. (Is that how you spell it? Whatever.)
Wolf Children
I would strongly recommend each one, for they're all animated beautifully and have great story lines. (My personal favorite movie being Spirited Away.)
Thanks for reading, I'm going to go finish Attack on Titan (or Advancing Giants to put into better words.) Peace.
The director of Paprika (Satoshi Kon) almost made Millenium Actress and a slasher movie called Perfect Blue. Both are memorables and the first one is amongst my favourites.
A lot of the movies are from Miyazaki and you should check is other works. Anything from Ghibli (his studio) is generally good to exceptional.
The tv series Neon Genesis Evangelion is not always good but at its best it is extraordinary.
Cowboy Bepop has fantastic setting, music and animation and almost every anime fan will recommend it. I personnally don't care much for it but I'm an exception.
Akira is a classic worldwide. FLCL is odd but quite a ride. Same thing with the movie Redline. I must warn you that they are not the most accessible anime out there.
Bunny Drop is a slow but very touching slice-of-life. Sadly only the first half of the story was animated.
Card Captor Sakura (tv series + movies) can be a little repetitive, but the charm and the quality of the production make up for it.
Wolf Children is a movie that I haven't seen yet but that was recommended to me by friends.
All those titles where available legally in North America at one time or another. This is what's coming to my mind for the moment. You can PM me if you want.
Thank you for the many suggestions, I'll get started right away.
