Hello all you beautiful watchers, thanks for sticking with me through this year of inactivity. Sorry that I haven't posted anything, but losing all your, well, everything when your computer crashes tends to knock the winds right out of your sails. But I do have a bit of good news that will hopefully brighten my day.
First up, as I'm sure you might have seen, I've posted a new story: Parties and Consequences. The TLDR is that it is based off of a Equestria Daily writing prompt for the episode "Amended Fences", in which Twilight attends Moondancer's original party that was thrown during the events of the first episode of the series. Discord makes an appearance, and crazy hijnks ensue.
I'm also desperately seeking a different title, so if anyone has any appropriate ideas, hit me up!
Unfortunately I was unable to meet the deadline for the writing prompt submission because of massive Internet failure across my entire region. As I'm in a very rural part of Midwest America there are only a few choices for Internet providers outside of highly limited and expensive data plans, so what happens is that you basically have to deal with a company that knows it has a monopoly and can just sit around and take it's time trying to fix the problem because they know you don't really have anywhere else to turn. So as you may expected, being without Internet and the time it takes to upload, format and process a story essentially makes getting in under the deadline impossible when the Internet comes up three minutes to the due date and even then it's spotty as all hell and disconnects whenever it feels like it.
The upside of this is that now the story can be distributed in chapter form and allows me more time and breathing room (as writing prompts on EQD are limited to between 1000 and 7000 words) to bring the current 'ending' up to par, but based on the response I get we might just see how deep the rabbit hole goes!
I also have another story that I started the moment I finished watching 'Amended Fences'. It was mostly complete before I was suddenly seized by the prompt that gave birth to Parties & Consequences, so keep an eye open for that. It is also based on the episode, but goes a completely different direction than Parties & Consequences. The only major problem is that stuff that takes place within an episode means that much more work has to go into it to match it up with what we've watched until the point of divergence so, you know, heads up on that.
Anyway, thanks for sticking with me all this time, guys. It really does mean a lot that you like my work enough to leave the comments and watches even after all the time that I 'gone'. Make sure to check your inboxes, right now Parties and Consequences is awaiting approval before it goes live, but I really wanted to get this journal out first. I'll edit this to include a link to the story whenever it goes live.
Thoughts, questions, concerns and positive, constructive feedback is always welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you for all your patience and sticking with me.
