A late entry on Starlight Glimmer · 4:40pm Jun 16th, 2015

Wow I really meant to post this sooner, it is a reaction to Starlight Glimmer in the premier, so it is a little late. Enjoy:

Honestly this is probably the nastiest villain the mane six have ever tangled with. Now the first thing anyone can say to this is bullshit; how can a simple unicorn be worse than, a cursed princess of the night with enough power to permanently turn off the sun, a powerful practical god of chaos who can turn you inside out and back with a snap of his claw, a changeling queen, and a being that can probably fight well against Frieza, in his first form, and you would be right to think that. I mean all the mentioned villains were definitely more threatening, and powerful so why are this simple unicorn worse? Well, what scares me is that of the villains we have seen in mlp she has something that is scarier than all of them an idea, or probably better stated as a philosophy.
The scariest thing is she has this thought out all wrong and refuses to admit or believe that. Sure other villains might have concepts on why they are doing something, or even justifications for why they are in the right to do so, but that is simply a goal to them an outcome they wish to achieve by defeating the opposition: turning off the sun, making the world an Picasso piece, feeding people by feeding on other people, and being the most powerful being ever. All this things are definitely motivations, but they are obviously evil and the villains seem to embrace that what they are doing is wrong. Starlight probably believes that what she is doing has been and always will be the right thing to do.
I think, at from what I have seen so far, she truly believes that she is, and has to be right and that the whole world is out of balance because of this misunderstanding of friendship. She seems to see herself as the only one who truly understands friendship, maybe. Even when she is confronted by Twilight as she explains how individuality is important, she ignores it. She even calls it “sentimental nonsense” and goes further still believing that she helped the people in the town that she was responsible for true friendships.
It is honestly too early to say what her character is correctly, but I really hope this is true. It could make her the most complex villain to be seen in this series, but as I say this I realize that what is probably going to happen is a sad backstory for her, followed by her realizing how wrong she was, and I will leave disappointed; not mad just disappointed.
