Wenmiao rd. - an expat brony's search for legit hasbro toys volume 4

Once again I am on the search for toys. This time around I was looking for Minecraft or Lego toys to give the the boys in my classes as I had already gotten pony stickers and toys for the girls. As much as I also wanted to give the boys pony stuff I figured I would go with another shared fandom, so I got them some ridiculously wired minecraft stuff.

Anyway, what is much more interesting is where I got these toys. For most expats (the non-geeks) Wenmiao Road is the location of the Confucius temple, and a nice place to visit when your looking to see a beautiful uncrowded temple in Shanghai. But Wenmiao hold much more then just a temple, it is an entire street fill with stores selling both real and fake anime collectable, plushies, screen printed posters and anime waifu pillows; with bartering being the standard fair for any object more then about 15 RMB ($2.5ish).

Oh course with MLP only reaching a very limited children's audience there is not nearly as many ponies as any Brony would want to see (I'm sure they could make me a waifu pillow if I brought in the image, but Im not at that point.... yet ).

Finally got my hands on a box of Fun Lovely Horse and nearly died of infinite pleasure when I saw the picture on the back:

Plushies on the other hand seemed to be the real TY brushables! Well if you ignore the obvious factory errors like a full back mane from bad sewing or this little tag mix up.
