I thought that it was just made up for the show. I want one but sadly their expensive.

I noticed something interesting that was shown with Starlight Glimmer in the Cutie Map. I don't think Hasbro meant to put it in but it showed a common aspect that we see all over the world with communism and socialism. For the leaders who promote it, it's really, "Your all equal under us." Basically what I'm trying to say is they say everyone must be alike, you will have no more than anyone else and you will conform to such-and-such standards but they themselves refuse to. If it was so good you would think they would want to join in. They will not live the way they say everyone else should. It's probably only a way to control people, to keep them from ever becoming something that could challenge them.
I personally think Starlight Glimmer's problem is that she believes her cutie mark to be less special than most other ponies. If they loose theirs then she'll be the only one special. Either that or she's just power hunger but the other makes a better back story.
That's a lot to take in.
Let's hope we get some backstory on her in the finale.

Anyway me too. I put a backstory in one of my stories but I do want to see if they will in the show. I personally think that she just wants control or she just thought her cutie mark is not special so she wants to make everypony give up theirs. That way she'll be the only one who is special.
