    Dishing out points for 2014

Well, here we are. The semis are over and done with, and we have our list of 26 songs for the final, so now I can go ahead and proclaim myself the least cool person on the planet by dealing out my points. Usual rule: It goes from 1 through 8, 10 and 12, and I can't vote for my own country.

    Slovenia, 1 point.
    Malta, 2 points.
    Italy, 3 points.
    Montenegro, 4 points.
    Armenia, 5 points.

    Eurovision 2014 - It's That Time Again (part 1)

    Sooo...

First off, my apologies for not writing more stuff. Not overflowing with ideas, and while I know that the writer's mantra is "write!", I feel no need to publish what I'd perceive as inferior material. When (not if) I get new ideas for stories, I'll get started again. Promise.

Alright, now I'm a little unhappy

To whoever had the glorious idea of submitting "Love Will Set You Free" to the Canterlot Archives: Thank you for making my day just a little less bright. I know that what I write is not top-tier stuff (which is what the Archives are all about), but I really did not need someone else telling me in words that were none too kind. I can handle brutal criticism of my work when I ask for it - as a

    Oof. Semis are exhausting.

Well, about half an hour ago, we got our 10 qualifiers from the second semi, to go along with the Big Five, the host, and the 10 qualifiers from Tuesday night.

If your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be? · 8:34pm Jul 22nd, 2012

I stumbled across this on a fanfiction.net user page, and I thought I'd give it a try.

Here's how it works (copy/pasted from Yahoo Answers):
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool

I'll do this twice; once with my Rock Band library, and once with the ESC 2012 lineup. This is gonna be weird.

Rock Band:

Opening Credits: Diary of a Madman - Ozzy Osbourne (off to a flying start, hm?)
Waking Up: It Hurts - Angels & Airwaves
First Day At School: The Wind Cries Mary - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Falling In Love: Witch Hunt (Part III of Fear) - Rush (ow!)
Fight Song: Dreaming of Love - Lights Resolve
Breaking Up Song: Free Ride - The Edgar Winter Group
Prom: Brother - Pearl Jam
Life: Control - Puddle of Mudd
Mental Breakdown: Master Exploder - Tenacious D (that's a scarily appropriate one...)
Driving: All Star - Smash Mouth
Flashback: Walk of Life - Dire Straits
Getting Back Together: China Grove - The Doobie Brothers
Wedding: Smile Like You Mean It - The Killers (cynical, much?)
Birth of Child: Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood (again, cynical, much?)
Final Battle: In Too Deep - Sum 41 (yep, that would perfectly describe me getting into a final battle alright)
Death Scene: Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Funeral Song: Nothin' But a Good Time - Poison (Irish wake, anyone?)
End Credits: Sober - Pink

ESC 2012:

Opening Credits: Waterline - Jedward (Ireland)
Waking Up: Zaleilah - Mandinga (Romania) (gonna be a nice day)
First Day At School: Korake ti znam - Maya Sar (Bosnia & Herzegovina)
Falling in Love: Nebo - Nina Badric (Croatia)
Fight Song: Lautar - Pasha Parfeny (Moldova) (that's one happy fight right there...)
Breaking Up Song: Vida minha - Filipa Sousa (Portugal) (appropriate, but then the lineup had 50% breakup songs)
Prom: We Are the Heroes - Litesound (Belarus)
Life: L'amore รจ femmina (Out of Love) - Nina Zilli (Italy)
Mental Breakdown: Echo (You and I) - Anggun (France)
Driving: The Social Network Song - Valentina Monetta (San Marino)
Flashback: Euphoria - Loreen (Sweden)
Getting Back Together: La La Love - Ivi Adamou (Cyprus) (yep, fitting)
Wedding: Verjamem - Eva Boto (Slovenia)
Birth of Child: Standing Still - Roman Lob (Germany) (so much for the happy marriage)
Final Battle: Love Is Blind - Donny Montell (Lithuania) (that's one weird fight right there)
Death Scene: Beautiful Song - Anmary (Latvia)
Funeral Song: Love Unlimited - Sofi Marinova (Bulgaria) (another happy wake)
End Credits: Party For Everybody - Buranovskiye Babushki (Russia)

Hey, that was actually fun...
