We found a village that the enemy had seized from us the previous year, before the long, bitter winter the Alicorn province is known for put an end to their campaign. As the majority of enemy forces in the area were guarding larger cities, I figured that I could easily retake it with the limited forces I was given. Indeed, there was not a single tank in the garrison. Following standard doctrine, the regiment's unicorns cast the Night Shroud spell over the village and the Night Terror spell on the enemy soldiers. We slaughtered them all before they could even muster the courage to raise their rifles. However, as the Night Shroud was lifted and we set about the business of reassuring the civilians that liberty had returned to their village, the dead enemy soldiers suddenly got up again! I was shocked to see one of them grasp the leg of my aide as another bit down on her skull. All across the village, shouts and shots rang out as dead began to walk again. They seemed impervious to pain and immune to our Night Terror spells. We saved all the civilians we could, but lost 70% of our regiment to enemies we already killed once. The civilians await resettlement, and my regiment awaits resupply, at our camp.
