Okay so this idea is in a lot of stories and sometimes it's in an Appledash story but here is what I'm thinking of.
Applejack is the only one of RD's friends that can really keep up with her in a competition. Rainbow's known her as the tough pony and always tease her. I think it would be a great idea if in one episode, AJ had a either a huge crush or got a coltfriend. I think this would be a totally awesome episode and I'm not doing it just because AJ is my fave pony. I really think this would be episode worthy.
Think about it, Rainbow would probably have a hard time dealing with Applejack starting to get all mushy, probably start teasing her about it at first and maybe make her upset. I think it could be a challenge on their friendship and help them understand each other more and get a closer bond once they figure it out. It would also mean either AJ would spend more time with Rarity then RD (Because to me, whenever we see AJ not working, she's either with family, on an adventure, or making a bet with RD) and I would find that Rainbow would kind of either feel rejected or laugh at Applejack for getting into a few girly things. Or she would try to avoid Rarity who's trying to give Applejack a makeover and drown her in advice.
So really... I think AJ getting a crush or coltfriend would probably affect more ponies than the rest of the mane six because she is a tomboy like RD and if it was RD, Applejack isn't the one to really tease unless it's a competition and Rainbow is always saying how she hates to be alone... I know Rarity would be gaga with trying to help any of her friends but it would also effect RD and maybe anypony else who thinks AJ starting to act a little more girly would find this weird.
Yeah, I hope they will do something like that in an episode soon. It would be a pretty extreme shift from character for AJ.
3061119 Yeah I think this would add some more character to the 'boring one' even though I totally believe that she isn't as boring and everybody else thinks.
