Still need cover art for my next story

Anyone able to do so? Or does anyone know an artist that is currently able to handle commissions/requests? I'm running out of time :derpyderp2:

    Concerning the recent site downtime

Does anyone have any clue why the site was down for so long today? I heard rumors that it was a ddos attack, but I'm not sure. Just trying to clear things up so I can take the necessary precautions if its a worst case scenario

Navy news and donations · 7:34pm Mar 27th, 2015

Hey guys, I'm sure you're all curious as to why I'm still here, so I'll fill you in.

Due to some complications with certain positions in the navy being closed and some medical wavers, I'm going to have to wait another six months approximately before I can go in. While this is a bit disappointing to me, the silver lining is that I can write for you guys some more.

Because it's going to be hard (nearly impossible) to find an employer who would want to take me in for just a few months, and especially since I live in an area where job opportunities are scarce, it is unlikely that I'll be able to have a job during this time. I was thinking of doing either a patreon campaign or commissions.

If I did patreon, it'd be a pledge per chapter I put out. I admit, this would be a lot simpler for me, but if you'd rather me do commissions instead, please let me know. For commissions, I'd take requests for one-off clopfics (or non-clopfics) along with any OC's, themes, settings, or ideas that are included, and just have people pay directly for it. Of course, you could just straight up donate if you wanted to without having to deal with all that, and I'd appreciate that just as much. I know a lot of you guys get sick of hearing people shove their patreon down your throats or be like "hey btw you can always give me money lol" and that's the last thing I want to do. If you don't want to help, I don't hold any resentment and I still am thankful to you for being one of my followers. I just need some help until I can get past these several months without a job.

So, I guess the point of all this is to ask you guys: Reguardless if you'd want to help, would you rather I make a patreon or do commissions? I'm good with either but like I said before, patreon might be easier for me. I'll let you guys in on more details once I figure out a plan.

Thanks! :twilightblush:

I'd pledge on a patreon. I can't do much, but I can still share what I do have.
Side note: First enlistment?

2916543 Awesome! Thank you so much!

What do you mean? :derpyderp2:

Are you joining the navy, and is it your first time doing so?

2916724 Yes I am and yes it's my first time doing so. I'm trying to apply for ocs (officer candidate school) and hopefully become a helicopter pilot

2916897
I know what OCS is; I was in the Marine Corps for five years. Pro tip: contrary to what OCS will try to say, your word as an officer is not God. I've met many a Lieutenant that thought because he came up with a plan, it was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and ignored any suggestions from his platoon sergeant for a better plan. Don't doubt yourself, but trust your senior enlisted if they give you a suggestion. Luck maith, mate.

Also, when you graduate from OCS, if memory serves me correctly, they will offer you the option to go to the Marines. Do NOT take that option unless you want to repeatedly beat your face against a wall from sheer stupidity.

2916916 Oh nonono. I'm not that arrogant (not to say that I think you're calling me that). I know the value of second opinions, constructive criticism and mentoring. I had a lot of times in school and in eagle scouts where my leader thought his plan was bulletproof but I knew it was ridiculous. I don't want to be that guy. But thanks for your advice anyway, it means a lot!

Also, I have no intention of joining the marines. I'd prefer to take a vocation that doesn't involve me getting shot at everyday. On top of that, I don't really hear good things about the marine corps in general (not saying that you're one of those people, I have no idea what kind of action you've seen). :twilightsheepish:

Good on you. And no, I wasn't trying to call you arrogant, I just want to make sure you're the kind of leader your sailors look up to and trust with their lives, because, whether your job is combat oriented or not, there's always a chance you might get deployed to a combat zone. Blessing and a curse, I was in a combat MOS, and never deployed once, whereas my buddies from my previous MOS, comm guys, had already been to the 'stan three times, and had three CARs. Not saying it is guaranteed to happen, but expect yourself to deploy at any given time, especially as an officer. But I digress, luck maith.

2917076 Yeah I'm of the opinion that the morale and respect of my followers is the most important virtue of any leader, so if and/or when I get in, i want to make sure that I'm someone people can trust and depend on. I know it sounds sappy but I just want to be that guy that other people talk about and say "Wow... our CO is a cool guy, huh?"

Part of me kinda hopes I get a deployment overseas because it'll give me some credibility but if I never do, I'll make sure to take the word of those who have seriously.

Thanks! I'll take all the luck I can get :derpytongue2:
