Going Bovine: The best fucking thing I have ever read. · 12:18am Mar 27th, 2015
This fucking book...I can't-I-I just fucking can't. This is the cover.
Just-just look at it! I laid my eyes on this cover and judged it so hard-in the best possible way. But wait! It gets better! Heres the description:
All sixteen-year old Cameron wants is to get through high school-and life in general-with a minimum effort. It's not a lot to ask. But thats before he's given some bad news: he's sick and he's going to die. Which totally sucks.
Hope arrives in the winged form of Dulcie, a loopy punk angel/possible hallucination with a bad sugar habit. She tells Cam there is a cure-if he's willing to go in search of it. With the help of Gonzo, a death-obsessed, video-gaming dwarf, and a yard gnomwho just might be the Viking god Balder, Cam sets off on the mother of all road trips through a twisted America of smoothie-drinking, happiness cults, parallel-universe-hopping physicists, mythic New Orleans jazz musicians, whacked-out television game shows, snow-globe vigilantes, and disenfranchised, fame-hungry teens into the heart of what matters most.
I am not even kidding you. Thats the official description of the book. Can't-stop-reading-help me!!!!
Oh sweet lucifer I love it so much! I read 150 pages in the last 24 hours. And that on a school day. I bet I looked like a nerd wipping out this 500 page book every second possible through out the day, but frankly my dear, I don't give a damn.
Also, I'm pretty sure Cam and I have the same brain...minus the terminal neurological disease, anyway. Also, just-fucking Gonzo. And the gnome. I can't even. If you find the time, read this mother fucking book. It's fucking fantastic so far and I'm only a third of the way through!! Ahhhh!!!
