This looks long and a bunch of it is probably just a load of waffle but, bear with me, I get around to my point eventually.
Whoopsie daisy. I've been away from pony - fimfic, fan art, the show itself, just pony in general - for far too long. I'll be honest, certain elements of the community (not any of y'all here, just seeing some of the stuff "fans" of the show have done) drove me away from it for a while, but I think I'm ready to come back. Soon, at least. Been busy with college lately. Aside from that; Halo, Destiny, and GTA have consumed fairly large amounts of my time, too, and hanging out with friends at literally any available time since I never know when we'll all be able to see each other again given our schedules which grow busier by the day. Oh, also, I plan on either starting a relationship or getting rejected sometime in the next couple weeks, so... there's that, too, on my plate. I hate to say it but pony fic isn't at the top of my list right now.
*ahem* anyone reading this probably didn't come here to hear me complain about my life, though - you're probably just wondering, "since when was this guy still alive and why should I care?" to which I answer; I have no idea if I'm not dead, and you have no reason to care. 50% of this blog is just for personal documentation, so I know when I started to get back to fimfic, but 50% of it is just sort of a courtesy for anyone who actually might care that I'm back, few as they may be. I've got, like, three followers. Actually, I have literally three followers. One left the site over a year ago, one's some awesome grunt guy who honestly I have no idea why you're following me but thanks, bud (also always cool to see other fans of Halo here), and then there's someone else who seems to role play a character from a fic I quite enjoyed and hasn't logged in for nine weeks. Not a shining example of popularity, but that's not why I'm here. I'm here to read get my fix of fics and hopefully brighten some peoples' days while I'm here, hence the blog post.
I mean, my last blog post got a whopping 10 views and I was quite shocked it even got that high. So I'm obviously not playing the followers game, this is just sort of a "hey y'all, I'm still alive, what up"
To cut this short, since it's already threatening to grow out of control, I still plan on coming back here - shifting conditions have kept me away, as well as general disgust with how some of the fanbase can be, but... I feel I've changed quite a bit in the time I've been gone. In fact, I know for sure I am a very, very different person than the one who left this site all those months ago. So, I think I can come back regularly, soon. Especially if I finish Season 4 and start watching Season 5 when it rolls around.
All I know is that it's going to be a very eventful return, considering I've got a backlog of 263 assorted chapters from various fics to read, and several probably have ended and maybe even started sequels by now.
Feels good to (almost) be back.
Edit: on the bright side, the majority of those 263 unread chapters appear to be Urohringr, whose chapters are (or at least were last time I checked) generally on the shorter side, most of the time. Shouldn't be such a monumental task, considering I took it upon myself to read Austraeoh through Innavedr in one chunk together when I started on the series. Apparently there's another one, though - Yaerfaerda. That should be interesting indeed to see how far things have come, when I reach that point.
I thank Luna that I never need to pronounce the names of these fics to anyone.
