Maressey - The Four Album Concept (Doing Fimfiction Through Music) · 9:56pm Feb 28th, 2015
So this is an update to progress of the four themed Maressey albums, which is a ponified tribute to The Smiths. I was hoping we'd get to the character arcs where songs start telling stories of several ships, with each song telling a different chapter of that storyline over its course. The best place for this to happen is with the album releases so each album has a theme and a stoyline. Therefore I've proposed collecting the songs in 4 themed albums, with one for Rarijack, Flutterdash, Twiluna, and one a general Bronies topics theme. Four just works for the amount of character themes involved and the progress so far on each. Overall this project examines the difficulties of having relationships within the different personalities and what happens when friendships are stretched by their different goals in life. I've gone with Lauren Faust's original concept to have Rarity and Dash fulfill their dreams outside of Ponyville but also the costs of such a departure. The biggest theme of all is how things change and we often feel the loss of tearing away of those bonds. Expect love, sadness, gay ponies, and mature themes.
First Album (Rarijack theme includes Big Mac, Sweetie Belle, and Spike) 10 songs. This album is closest to done so will be the focus to release first.
Second Album (Flutterdash includes Scootaloo + Discord) 9 songs. Very far along. Only last 2 songs furthest behind.
Third Album (Twiluna Theme, Includes small Pinkie Pie arc, Celestia, and Trixie) 9 songs.The 4 song Twiluna arc is needing the most attention but could be rescued quickly with vocalist help on Luna and Twi's parts.
Fourth Album (The Brony Album). This one is mainly about the fandom and from our pov. Likely may include some pony songs dealing with background characters that don't fit well in the other 3 mane 6 album concepts. Can be released intermittently rather than chronologically like the other 3 albums. 10 songs
