    Hmm.

I'm planning on updating Turn On Me tomorrow, but I can't decide whether I should update two chapters or just one. Chapter 3 doesn't have as much going on as chapter 4.

Oh well. Either way, update happening tomorrow. :pinkiehappy:

    Story progress, thoughts on criticism.

I said I'd post the next chapter to Turn On Me in the afternoon but fuck the police I am a grown adult man and I make my own life choices when it comes to emotionally crippling fiction about ponies. Fight me, bruh.

    So, um...

It's been a minute since I logged into this account. I don't even remember what caused me to take that surprise hiatus. Life, probably. Sometimes it happens, yeah?

I said I'd post the next chapter to Turn On Me in the afternoon but fuck the police I am a grown adult man and I make my own life choices when it comes to emotionally crippling fiction about ponies. Fight me, bruh.

Last night I did a minor amount of worrying about the direction the story is going to take. It is a bit of a slow-burner, and the "adventure" tag won't be relevant until chapter four; what if interest peters out because of it? This sad shit is getting, well... saddening, and reading ten chapters of Fluttershy crying is dull as hell; can I even keep my own interest going? And, worst of all, I'm apparently going to punish Discord, and my story's Fluttershy isn't canon because she's a mouthpiece for my weird canon-warping agenda! :pinkiecrazy: I had no idea, but, I mean, that's apparently what's going to happen and I didn't even tell myself. I've never attempted a multi-chapter fic before, so gettin' told off for things that literally have not happened in the story and have not been implied for the future is actually a real treat. God, I love the internet. :rainbowwild:

Jokes aside, I truly value criticism in all its many forms... because no matter whether someone likes or dislikes something I produce, a comment means that they took the time to let me know. Which means they have an informed perspective, which means there is worth in the commentary somewhere. I can dig it, as they say.

So, uh, if you're looking at this and debating whether or not to write me a multi-paragraph complaint about how I don't write exactly how you like, I unironically want you to send it. I can't promise that I'll change course-- in fact, I can pretty much guarantee that it won't. However, knowing what people like and dislike is valuable! This site has a great community, and I want to understand it and take peoples' interests into account when I do the pony-writin' in the future. If I'm going to write an antagonistically unpopular piece in the future, well... I want to do it right.

God, just take this infernal typing device away from me. Time to post the damn chapter.
