Yes, I am a werewolf. Yes, I will tear your face off if you irritate me. No, I can't be bribed with doggy treats. Don't feed the gremlins.

Boss of the Week #2: The Black Baron · 6:59am Feb 20th, 2015

Now here's a guy that I just can't help but love for a number of reasons. The one and only bishop of blood and carnage himself, the Black Baron (stop starin') is the final boss of MadWorld, a hidden gem exclusive to the Nintendo Wii. Throughout the game, he introduces the player to each mini-game event (called Bloodbath Challenges) in the most hilariously semi-racist way possible. He's cocky, self-assured, and a totally incredible boss fight.

When the battle starts, it's just you, as Jack Cayman, and him in a ring, fighting to the death to determine the Number 1 contestant in the bloodsport gameshow known as Deathwatch. The battle starts out fairly standard, with you and the Baron throwing punches and kicks (and Jack swinging a chainsaw around like a giddy Leatherface) at each other with no remorse, though it does throw a few curve balls at you. For example, if you get too close to the edge of the ring, there's a chance that the Baron's girl, Mathilda, will grab you and beat the ever-living s**t out of you with a spiked bat. Then there's the power struggle in the middle of the battle, where Jack and the Baron match each other blow for blow, until Jack claims the upper hand. But then...

And here's where he gets royally pissed. Gone is the cool, suave persona that he has throughout the game; the Black Baron is out for blood. In this phase of the battle, he gains a number of supernatural abilities, such a tornado dive kick, a black hole-like instant kill, and fiery fists of death. In this stage, you WILL die if you're not careful.

Are you good enough to beat the Baron? Because he's good enough to beat you.

Next week, I'm showing a little love to one of my favorite sci-fi series of all time.
