I'm the oldest of ten kids, (ten I know right!) growing up I was always allowed to pursue my imagination. I started learning to write in 2006, and became a brony in spring of 2014.

    Set up for Audio.

I was recently set up with several microphones and some nice Phantom Power setups. If anyone would like to have any particular stories have a reading done for them, I might be interested in doing them. If you have a story you want read aloud, send me a suggestion and I'll look at it.

    Where have I been?

I don't have a lot of followers, or people tracking my stories. But I do have a few, and for those few who are keeping an eye on me I wanted to let everyone know where I've been and what's been up. And what's next as far as my fanfics.

Creating an OC, and my plans on fimfiction · 10:46am Feb 19th, 2015

Hello all. As this is my first post of any kind on this site, I thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself, my plans as a member of the community and a couple of my thoughts on making an OC.

I think one of the things all of my friends would agree that they know about me; are that I'm highly religious, but by no means a zealot. I can cook some amazing dishes, and I absolutely love Vikings. Boy do I love my Vikings. I mean, we think of them as savage warriors out to raid, rape, pillage, rape, kill and rape. But in reality, they were more likely to peacefully trade with you (as long as you weren't a catholic monk) and invented such important concepts as arrest warrants, having a right to face your accuser in a court of law and being able to imprison a man without his confession. (decreases the need for torture by a lot.) AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY M**********N HORNS!

I've been learning to write professionally since about 2006. I'd probably be published by now, but I had a really long way to go. And I mean, REAALY long way. Besides having little clue on how to spell, I couldn't string a narrative together and even worse, my characters were Mary Sues of the worst kind. I've come a long way since then, but would like to test the waters a little by making a few short stories to gauge reactions here.

By the rate I'm working on them the first MLP fan fiction you'll likely see from me is a short piece where I bring my characters from an OC work and drop them off in equestria with one of their villains. It's been a fun piece to work on, and has helped me with some of the fleshing out of these characters by putting them in situations they'd never deal with in their native setting. My lead character, Sosha and my villain, Bagely are both characters that I'd like to break down to show one of the best lessons I've learned in making OCs.

Sosha, as a character has the following strengths; He is a master swordsman, considered one of the best in hundreds of years on his home. He's intelligent and tries to be merciful to enemies and fair to those he leads. He possesses an antimagic sword that can kill anything while protecting him from magic. (Vampires, werewolves, Celestia, demi-gods.)

Now lets compare his strengths to his weaknesses. He is easily enraged, and makes bad choices while angry. He has conflicting feelings about his religion, both wanting to follow it and actively oppose it. He has a fear of saying things wrong so strong, that he keeps secrets so long that it causes trouble when they finally come out. He dances around subjects that embarrass him, is rude to people he's just met, can forget all about mercy when angry, resorts to violence too quickly for his own tastes and often forgets his own limitations, landing him in hot water.

Notice that his weaknesses, are twice as numerous as his strengths. (and I didn't list all of them.) A strong protagonist OC needs to have his writer focus on his weaknesses more than his strengths. While an Antagonist needs to have the opposite.

Bagely, is indestructible by normal means. His power grows the longer he is on a world and in possession of himself. With this power he gains amazing strength and speed, hundreds of times what a man should have. As his power grows he slowly begins to drain a world of it's life and it's 'creation.' If he is injured with antimagic, he can cut replacement parts from others to fix himself quickly, also gaining any powers that his victim had. His ultimate goal is to return all of reality to the void it was before as he puts it "The gods came and began to create things from my home"

Bagely's weaknesses are that he is a little too malicious and makes dumb choices to prove it, and he can be killed by anti magic.

this is something that the writers of Friendship is Magic understand too
Break down Twilight, or Rainbow Dash, or Rarity and you'll find their weaknesses far outweigh strengths. RD is fast and loyal, but she is insecure, arrogant (they aren't exclusive) hyper focused, tactless and on. Tierek's powers made him unstoppable until the mane six busted out the weaponized god mode friendship.

TL:DR Good guys defined by weakness. Bad guys by strength. Rainbow Power Deus Ex.

Have an awesome one yall.
