ME? I'm your inspiration?! I do feel flattered, but seriously, you need a place to get better inspirations from
I'll show you how I do it, you can try and see for yoursef. But please, know that your first works may not come out as well as you expected. Don't give up nevertheless!
I usually sit alone and hear some music while smoking a cigarette (you can skip the alone/cigarette part). I read the lyrics to the music and try to imagine situations with ponies in them. Like, for example: When hearing some hard dubstep, I imagine Vinyl Scratch playing for crowds. The same goes for Octavia and classical music.
You may be thinking: What the fuck?! Dubsteps and Classical musics don't have lyrics that make sense!
Yes, I agree, but it's a place to start. So, when I get tired of imagining simple things (like lunatic, raving crowds jumping to a Dj-Pon3 show), I get another music with meaningful lyrics.
Then I begin to imagine complicated situations.
The plot thickens (or not) and: Done.
I write a rough script of my story and begin to write. Often while I'm writing, some ideas may come that I can incorporate on the story (it happened to me in every single one of my stories). You need to stop and think about it: Does it fit my story? Will it be too much? Will it be too complicated? Etc.
And since my inspiration comes from musics, hence the name of my story: Musical Shorts.
PS: Again, this is how I do it. You have to figure out some way to imagine stories by yourself. Feel free to try my way, though.
Thank you
