    That's on "Castle Sweet Castle"

The aftermath of the Golden Oak library's destruction and its affect on Twilight has been explored many times in fan fiction, so I was interested in seeing the "canon" take on the issue.

Apparently I have the gift of prophesy

A while ago I was commenting on how I'd seen MLP crossed over with live action tv shows and movies, anime, cartoons, literature (including works of Shakespeare!), video games, and even real-world historical events. I added that about the only thing I hadn't seen MLP crossed with was the Bible, but I figured it was only a matter of time.

What makes a crossover work (or not)?

I'm toying with the idea of writing a crossover fic, and I'd like to get other people's opinions of what makes a crossover successful (or not successful).

    C'mon Winter Wrap-Up

Between the almost 15 straight hours of darkness, sub-freezing temperatures, general bareness, and overall inhospitality of conditions outside, I feel like I'm living in William Hope Hodgson's Night Land! (Ok, so maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but only slightly)

    Bring on the Spring already!

    Thoughts on fan fiction

I once read a critic who described fan fiction as the "creative equivalent of cover bands." He considered fan fiction to be artless copying and saw no value in reading it. I wouldn't attempt to change the mind of someone so entrenched in his opinion, but I would strongly disagree with his opinion that fan fiction lacks merit.

What makes a crossover work (or not)? · 4:50am Jan 14th, 2015

I'm toying with the idea of writing a crossover fic, and I'd like to get other people's opinions of what makes a crossover successful (or not successful).

Speaking strictly for myself, one of my main criteria for a successful crossover is how well it can keep the characters from the various properties "in character." I can accept a story in which MLP:FiM and Stargate: SG1 exist in the same universe, so long as each member of the SG team and the Mane six all ring true to their canon counterparts, but that's just my personal preference.

So for anyone reading this, what do you look for in a crossover? What do you NOT want to see in a crossover?
