A Dazzling Defeat Preview · 8:04am Jan 10th, 2015
You remember that Sundagio series I was talking about in my last journal, ya well I've really been having a ton of fun with it, and to be honest I can't even really call it a Sundagio series anymore, it's starting to focus on the other characters just as much, and have other shippings that get just as much attention. I'm really excited! Anyways here's the preview for the first story, enjoy!
The three sat in relative silence for a while, munching on their taco's as their minds all whirled with thought.
“So, what's the plan?” Aria broke the silence, turning her attention to Adagio.
“Plan....” Adagio drew out distantly, as she folded her wrapper up to throw away.
“Ya, the plan, what do we do now?” Sonata added helpfully
Adagio let out a deep sigh as she closed her eyes in thought “I....” She attempted, but nothing came
The two Sirens stood, shuffling awkwardly as Adagio remained silent.
“We......we do have a plan, right?” Aria questioned, giving a sideways glance to Adagio.
“I...” Adagio attempted again, before letting out a deep sigh of defeat. “I honestly have no idea.”
“You don't have anything” Aria cried out in shock.
“.....No....” Adagio confessed, deciding to plop down onto the ground.
“Ugh, Great I guess we're just condemned to die then” Aria half shouted, throwing her hands up in exasperation, before laying against the cold stone surface of the statue.
“Die?.....But we're not going to die are we?”
“Of course we are, our hearts are broken! How else do you expect us to pick up negative energy?!” Aria shouted, glaring angrily at Sonata
“M-maybe we could find another way to harness energy?” She suggested.
“Oh ya like what? Without our voices it won't do us any good!”
“Well....what if...uh....what if we lived off taste food?”
“Taste food? Do you even hear yourself? There's a reason it's called that idiot, it's just for taste, with no nutritional value whatsoever! She yelled, barely constraining her anger.
“ARIA STOP!” Adagio called out, pointing towards Sonata
“Bu...But.....” Sonata squeaked, eyes beginning to shimmer. Nothing coming to her mind, she did the only other thing she could, letting out a loud cry as unshed tears began flowing down her face
“I don't wanna die!!!!” Sonata wailed, sinking to her knees.
Aria's stood wide eyed at the scene, stepping back uncomfortably. Glancing over she saw Adagio glaring at her “ I....she was the one..........Ugh Whatever” Aria gave up with a huff, plopping onto the ground beside Adagio. Adagio continued to glare at her for a few moments longer as the girl looked anywhere but at Sonata. Letting out a sigh, she searched through a bag she had for emergencies, and handed Sonata a teddy bear.
“Here, it's okay Sonata, we'll be fine. I'll figure out a solution, just give me time”
Letting out a sniffle, she yanked the bear from Adagio's hands and hugged it tightly. Why Sonata had taken a liking to the silly thing was beyond her, but it worked well to calm her down. She supposed that was all that really mattered. Except this time it didn't....or at least not as much.
“Hey Sonata, c'mere” Adagio said flatly, motioning the girl to come forward. She quickly obliged, laying herself down into the eldest Sirens lap, ceasing slightly in her crying.
Adagio glanced back at Aria, who seemed content to to stare up at the moon, some of it's light leaving a glimmer in her eyes. Or at least it would appear that way, but Adagio knew better. Carefully, and deliberately, she stretched out her other arm to rest around the distant Siren.
Aria turned her head sharply at the gesture, but quickly returned to her gazing with no further protest.
Adagio observed her carefully for a few moments, knowing something was up for her to willingly accept the gesture. Looking between the two, she could see similarity, though they expressed it in different ways, she could see them both hurting. Letting out a deep sigh, she closed her eyes returning to thought. There had to be another way, something she could do to get them out of this mess, there just had to be!
