24th of december all over the world. · 12:05am Dec 25th, 2014
Now, I hope I've managed to publish this before the bells have struck midnight in your country today.
Surely though, you won't be reading this at that time. You guys will be surely either sharing with your families, friends, pets, dakimakuras, etc or sleeping.
First of all, let me wish you: Merry Christmas.
Now, after that's been said, let me ask you something I've been wondering about all day.
As some of you know, merry christmas isn't the same for everyone around the world. By that I don't try to talk about the economic differences between the inhabitants of different countries or the economic differences between the people of the same country. No, that's not what I want to talk about.
I don't want to talk about the fact that some people don't celebrate christmas because they have a different belief, nor do I want to talk about the meaning christmas has for people who go to church or people who don't. What I want to talk about it is celebrated, the music, the songs people around the world listen to while celebrating the same thing, namely christmas.
As you know, christmas is a very particular celebration, since it's celebrated by thousands of people in the world, despite their belief, race, social background, etc, which was introduced mostly by the western church to many populations. Interestingly enough due to the circumstances, weather, or religions in the host country, christmas has know how to adapt itself to the population, or rather, the companies and the people themselves have known how to modify it in order to fit their liking, needs, and beliefs.
In my native country for instance, even if we do know the popular songs, or their melodies with our own lyrics, brought to us from Europe or the USA, thanks to the particular circumstances in our country, songs that others might not consider "christmas-y" are a must when this beloved date comes closer.
I won't bother you with a extensive list of all the songs we listen to during this time, so I'll post one in this blog entry.
As you can tell, this song doesn't resemble in any way those you hear around this time of the year. But for us, the people in Colombia, it's just something we have to hear when christmas is near.
I only brought this up because I'm curious about what kind of songs other people listen to in other countries during this time of the year, and which for those countries are "representative" for this time of the year.
If you're wondering why I'm posting this in a forum where all we do is talk about ponies, well...I don't really know....

Alright. Good bye and Merry Christmas again.
