Story of the week (#1) · 2:15am Jun 24th, 2012
Well I've been reading a lot of fanfics here on fimfiction and I have decided to start a blog up where once a week I talk about a story that has caught my interest and encourage others to go and read it. It can be an ongoing story or one that has been finished, new or old, adventure, romance, or sometimes both. Anything goes really and yes before you ask it may or may not contain clop. I'm doing this so you can read and possible enjoy a good story as much as I have.
So without further ado I give you the first ever STORY OF THE WEEK!
Growing Pains
by: Peroth E.

Genres: Romance
Tragedy
Dark
Adventure
Alternate Universe
This story is actually very special to me as being the fanfiction that really hooked my interest on all mlp fanfiction. I originally read it on fanfiction.net and it instantly grabbed my attention and in the end lead me to fimfiction.net, so without it I guess I wouldn't have known about all the great stories here on fimfiction.
I don't even know how to begin to do this story justice with a good explaination while not giving away spoilers so I will give you the author's description of the story
Twilight wakes up with a serious head-ache caused by her horn spontaneously growing due to a sudden increase in her magical power. Nopony seems to have an answer for it, but it has attracted the attention of an unusually powerful militant foreign nation intent on her capture and execution. When a string of events lands Twilight before Celestia's father himself he tasks her and her newfound magic with tying up some loose ends he'd left behind long ago, ultimately connecting with this foreign nation's goals. With their powerful enemy baring down on Equestria, intent on taking it in a stranglehold, Twilight and her friends have little other choice than to travel the world and hunt for the rest of Celestia's family and end several thousands of years worth of feuding to prevent the war coming to Equestria before they themselves are caught.
I cannot recommend this story enough and I have yet to come across a story that grabbed my interest in a way as it did.
If you like Romance pairings between the mane 6 it has it. If you like war and Equestria proving that all their Guards aren't just for show and that hard times can bring out the hero in even the Derpyest of ponies then you will not be disappointed. If you like Twilight and friends fighting together against that which would disrupt harmony and traveling to new lands and meeting new ponies, both allies and villains, along the way then you will enjoy this. If you ever wondered about what lies outside the land of Equestria and how it would affect the elements of harmony than this story is the story for you.
Floating castles, magic powers, riding dragons, this story grabbed my attention from the first chapter and I'm positive that if you want to enjoy a good story than you will like Growing Pains. -NeonEclipse
I agree with this post!
Growing Pains has been one of my favorite stories for a while now.
