    New Years

So a few weeks ago I posted a blog post saying I was alive and writing, and well that's still true. I'm working on a few story ideas and trying to get myself working hard on getting something to publish soon.

But it is now 2016, so I figure I'll make a new blog post, just because :rainbowwild:

Soooo yeah, Happy New Years everyone...didn't think this through that well...

The Final Night... · 9:11am Nov 14th, 2014

Time seemed to freeze as Applejack stared at the tablet screen, the static covered display of the eerily quiet restaurant. It wasn't that which made her stop, her blood turning icy in her veins as she stared, eyes wide and mouth hanging limply open.

No, it was the faint, almost invisible reflection she could see in the glass. Behind the static, the darkened image of the now empty show stage, she could just make out the image of herself, the horrified expression on her face just barely visible and staring back at her.

No, not at her, at the massive shadow reflected in the computer screen as well. Just to her left, the piercing glow of bright, baleful red eyes that bored into the back of her skull, one pale hand outstretched and mere inches from the back of her neck, ready to snap shut like the jaws of a hungry predator.

Swallowing the lump forming in her throat, she waited, body locked in place as the thing in the reflection stared her down. Why wasn’t it moving, was it waiting for her to acknowledge it? Why not just strike now while she seemed distracted?

Maybe it wasn't there, maybe it was actually in the camera feed and she was just mistaken. Though if so what in the world was that, that thing!

Her answer came all too quickly, as she noticed it move slightly, the fingers poised inches from her neck flexed ever so slightly. And over the pounding of her heart, she heard the faintest click of metal shifting in her left ear.

She couldn't take it anymore, she had to see it with her own eyes, and maybe she could move fast enough to slip past it, make a run for the exit. Or at the very least she could take a swing at the damned thing and maybe fight it off.

It happened almost too fast for her to register. She let go of the tablet and spun her chair around, ready to lash out, run, whatever it took to get that thing away from her.

Her chair barely made it halfway around, the sound of the discarded device clattering to the ground still loud in her ears when the icy cold hand of the monster snapped shut, and she gasped, a burning pain exploding in her throat as her windpipe was crushed in its vice like grip.

Fear seized Applejack and she desperately pawed at the hand, trying in vain to pry its fingers loose, all thoughts of fight or flight replaced by the need to breathe. All too quickly though, her struggles weakened, the burning in her lungs and throat growing worse even as her vision began to darken, the cold, unblinking red eyes of the creature boring into her own as it watched her fade away.

Then, suddenly, it blinked. Or something happened as the red dots vanished from her sight for the briefest of moments. Then it happened again, and suddenly the fingers grew slack, releasing just enough for her to gasp. She didn't question the sudden change of heart, she just sucked in as much air as she could through its now weakened hold.

With each tiny inhale, a little more of her vision returned, and slowly more of the horrific sight was revealed to her. Around those piercing red eyes was nothing but a mangled mess of wires and metal, twisted and bent out of shape. Its lower jaw was all that remained of its face that seemed to have been ripped away violently if what was left was anything to go on.

It seemed to blink again, and she risked shifting her attention downward, taking in the body of the robotic monstrosity. Dull and withered purple fur covered it from head to toe, a once bright red bowtie fastened to its neck, now it was dull and dusty just like the rest of it.
She also discovered the reason for it only attacking her with one hand. The opposite, like its face was gone too, now nothing but a tangled mess of cables and wires that swayed in the breeze of the desk fan behind her.

It reminded her of those creepy looking robots that she was supposed to be watching, if you left it alone to rot for twenty years and didn't care for it.

“W-What, are, you?” She managed to ask between gasps. The thing’s head seemed to tilt ever so slightly, the drooping bunny ears atop its head twitching very slightly as though reacting to her voice. Again it seemed to blink, and the grip loosened another fraction, though it still refused to let go entirely.

A long agonizing minute ticked by as it simply stared her down, Applejack seized the opportunity to look for a way out of her situation. The hand around her throat was withered down to the metal, the fur of the costume the robot wore having long peeled away, the fingers now little more than skeletal thing pieces of metal. Maybe she could break it; a solid hit at the wrist might be enough to free her…

The only alternative she could see was simply waiting until help came, or it stopped malfunctioning and just snapped her neck like it had seemingly been trying to do.

Steeling herself, she prepared to strike. Her blow was stopped short however when it suddenly made a sound, a dull modulated grumble. She froze again, eyes jumping back to its destroyed face as it tried again, this time, a tiny voice managed to escape it.

“A-Apple…jack…?” It seemed to rasp, its voice weak, heavily distorted by the damage done to it, but for some strange reason, it made her freeze. Had it said her name, that couldn't have been right…

“Apple…jack.” Again it spoke, stronger this time, as though its voice was slowly returning to it after being unused for so long. It wasn't that it spoke that made her pause though, or even that this old busted robot somehow knew her name.

What made her stop, what made tears sting her eyes and her blood chill to the bone. Was the all too familiar voice it spoke with. Even through the distortion, even though the horribly managed voice box of the old robot, it was a voice that made her heart break.

“Apple Bloom, is, is that you?” She managed to whisper, the tears now running down her face as she stared into those soulless red eyes. It couldn't be, it had to be in her head, that thing couldn't be her little sister…
“Applejack…help…me…” The voice sounded again, softer than before, the faintest tinge of fear somehow creeping into its robotic tone. “I…can’t…”

“Apple Bloom!” Applejack cried, thought of losing her a second time overriding the fear that had kept her frozen to the spot. She weakly reached out, lightly touching the chest of the costume, all she could feel was the dusty suit, or the cold traces of the robot skeleton underneath. “What, what did they do to you?”

Suddenly, the robots eyes flickered again, and she felt its fingers flex, than tighten just a fraction. “I can’t…help…me.” It said again, its eyes blinking once, then twice as though it was waking up and blinking sleep from tired eyes.

“I’m here, Apple Bloom, what can I d-“ Her response was cut short as with one final blink of its eyes, the robots hand abruptly tightened again, cutting into her skin and drawing blood this time. Instinct seized her and she weakly grabbed at the robots fingers, trying to pry them loose.

“I’m Sorry, Applejack.” It whispered in her missing sister’s voice. “I can’t, fight it, anymore.” For a long moment Applejack stared helpless into its eyes, unsure as to what ‘it’ was that her sister referred to.

Her answer came all too quickly, as a loud, sickening crunch punctuated her sister’s words. The pain in her body vanished instantly, and as darkness rushed up to swallow her senses, she heard that weak voice one final time. “I’m sorry…”

(Actual Blog Post from here on out)

Well...that's a thing.

I, honestly don't have anything to really add here, I'm posting this as a blog post because, A: I have no idea what it is, I literally just had a random...image pop into my head and I started writing, about half hour later I stopped and saved my work and, aside from touching up a couple of spelling mistakes, this is the result.

All I can say is that its based on the game Five Nights at Freddy's (Two to be exact) which I've been playing obsessively for the past couple of days...beyond that its just a random idea that I conjured up...but hey, at least I finally wrote something right, even if it is a bit of a mess.

Enjoy, I guess? :rainbowderp:
