FimFiction - A Brilliant Mess · 7:07am Nov 13th, 2014
I think it's obvious enough that with only two stories, two blog posts, and nine followers, I'm pretty new to this site. However, I am rapidly finding that FimFiction and Equestria Daily are becoming my go-to sources for all things pony related (with the occasional side-trip down Deviant Art Lane). The community here seems more cohesive than on, say, the Equestria Forums, I enjoy the ability to customize my profile to my heart's content, and it's a better outlet overall for subjecting the innocent and the unwary to the fruits of my creative labor (sorry about that! ).
This site is so far from perfect though! Just tonight I was trying to figure out how to properly "favorite" other peoples' stories, and found that apparently my profile does not actually have a button to do so! My friend does, though... That's the thing I can't wrap my head around. How two different, equally new users somehow end up with different interfaces. I can only shrug my shoulders and toss it up to the internet gods not being too fond of me.
So does this post serve a purpose? Well, no. Not really! I honestly just felt like griping about something on the internet. That, and for some reason I am unable to collapse the blog post window on my user page into a less epic wall of text, so complaining for a few paragraphs was the best way my sleep deprived mind could come up with to do so.
And that's really it!
Oh, but why am I sleep deprived, asked nopony? Let's just say that Rocket Blaze was a little too enthralled with the recent comet landing done by our friends across the pond. Great job, Europe!
I'm pretty sure you'll soon figure out all of FimFiction's little details and settings. In my opinion, the website interface is very intuitive and easy to understand. About the favorite story button, I think you're looking for it on the wrong place - you can find it in the story page, and not a profile page.
Stories listed as 'favorites' in a profile, are there because the owner of that page added a module that allows him to show his favorite works. It's almost like a showcase, and you can have one as well - when editing your user page, try selecting a module called 'Favorites Gallery'
Good luck with it, and feel free to contact me if you need anything.
2592339 Thanks! It didn't occur to me that the favorites module was where I could select favorites. In hindsight, I'm not sure why that didn't occur to me. I'll just chalk it up to sleep deprivation at the time of writing this. Lol
