Hey, I haven't used this site in a while. I'm looking for a certain story. · 4:39pm Oct 31st, 2014

Stuff looks a lot different on this site. I'm liking it. I've got a lot of stories to read. :D

Actually, I was looking for a story I could have sworn I favorited. It might have been called Lunar Diary or journal or maybe 'For A thousand years' or '1000 years.' Whatever the case may be, I cannot find it. I fear it was deleted or something, which would be a shame, as I really liked that story. I don't know if it was particularly popular, but it was very good. I don't remember how I found it either, but it had to be long ago. Probably before season 2's end. Apparently my Google searching skills won't be of use to me, as I've exhausted a decent amount of options. If only I knew a line from the story verbatim, I could find it.

What I do know about the story is that is was only about one chapter long. Maybe two, but the main story was all in one chapter. It is told in the first person by Celestia, who regretfully reads Luna's diary which chronicles her time on the moon and how she slowly loses her mind. There are apparently a lot of stories like this now, but those usually have narration and dialogue as opposed to what this one had, which is just first person narration. The story is written like diary entries are. i.e.: There's a day count and such. Celestia would occasionally provide input in-between some entries, mostly illustrating her guilt. I think she says something about 'Lunar Banishment' being 'horrific' or 'cruel, unspeakable' or any adjective of the like.

While on the moon, Luna is unable to kill herself, which I believe she tries to by stabbing herself in the leg with her horn. She says Celestia put a spell on her which preventing magic usage, dehydration, starvation, and it also provided an oxygen supply. Luna writes in her diary, at first, in denial. I think she goes through all the stages of grief actually (Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance) and then goes insane. She also writes about people with white bodies and black heads or something. Standing on their hind legs. (They were astronauts, basically) She suffered from hallucinations and what not. She stabbed herself in the leg again. Lots of stuff happened. I think she made imaginary friends.

Finally, when Celestia came back to collect Luna, she was unrecognizable. Luna, I think, lashed out at Celestia, but she knocked her out and took her back home. Luna writes one last entry in the diary, with an erased memory, commenting on how stupid and sick it was of her sister to write the scary entries that were in her diary. "She probably wrote those in herself to scare me." I doubt that's verbatim. Luna believes she slept through the 1000 years, and I think she discards the diary and becomes nightmare moon. At the very end, Celestia is saying Luna will remember everything that happened one day, and turn back int what she saw on the moon. Really cool story. I might remember the cover being really disturbing. Really dark (visually) and it may have had teeth. ._.

So, um, if you run into it, or have read it, I'd like you to link me. :D I'll be very grateful.

If you search for dark, mature, gore, complete, celestia, luna, and nightmare moon you might find it. Please link it if you do as it sounds interesting.

2566744 I've actually tried that. I also don't think it was under a mature tag, though it should have been. I really do want to find it, and re read it. It's quite good.

2566214 I've been fine. How've you been?

2567146

Brilliant! I'm now into Warhammer!

2567171 Ah. I hear that's good. I'm not much a fan of the genre myself, however. I'm sure it's interesting.

2567189 That looks bonkers. Real cool.

2567216 Very rugged imagery.

2567144

Well, hen search for it again but with teen and gore this time!

2567241 I actually don't think it was marked with a gore tag. I've currently searching for stories with luna, and dark. (It'll take a while) I'm roaming though that, since it's broad enough for it to be there. If it's not, then it was taken down. I think it was taken down anyway, cause I honestly remember saving it.

Hell, I'm even looking for my comments on Google, cause I may have commented on it. I'll even use the Internet Wayback machine if I must.

2567239 And that one is slightly disturbing

2567254

Might I suggest going from the least recent page to the most recent, so as to increase the likelihood? I tried looking for it earlier, but I found nothing so far.

2567284 This would be easier if you could exclude tags.

Also, how do you sort it that way?

2567284 This story is really close, but this isn't it. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/132186/1/a-millennium-of-solitude/day-one

The things different between this and the story I'm searching for is the one I'm looking for doesn't have nightmare moon in it. She's just mentioned. Also, it's supposed to actually be written by Luna, and she actually talks to the books and speaks about how she wants to conserve pages. Finally, Celestia is in the story and speaks of her regrets. Other than that, this is pretty close, a I only skimmed it. Seems good. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/132186/1/a-millennium-of-solitude/day-one

You just click the last page button and go backwards.

Oh yeah, I forgot the intro paragraph!

IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE THERE IS ONLY WAR
"It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor of Mankind has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the master of mankind by the will of the gods and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the vast Imperium of Man for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day so that he may never truly die.Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in His name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defence forces, the ever-vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat to humanity from aliens, heretics, mutants -- and far, far worse. To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

2567632 Yeah, that all sounds pretty brutal. I know quite a few people into Warhammer, and you're the first to actually help me understand the story behind it.

2568162 Since I'm not familiar with the lore, I think it might only confuse me rather than keep me up at night, but thank you. I'll take a look.

2568165

Actually, it explains quite a bit. Heck, I learned a lot of stuff even I didn't know about!

2568169 Alright. I'll check it out something in the future.
