Exactly Where Equestria Is in the Universe · 8:18pm Jun 18th, 2012
So, both Equestria and Earth can see the constellation Orion. They are simular shapes and have simular viewsn First of all, let's calculate the distance between Earth and Equestria.
Right, Orion is 3D. Our distance from the nearest star in Orion is approximately 25 light years away. This means that Equestria is 25 light years away from it's nearest star in Orion. As the view of Orion from Equestria is precisely opposite Earth's, Equestria musr be on the other side of Orion. Therefore, the total distance between the Earth and Equestria is
Distance of Earth From Star A + Distance of Equestria From Star A = Total Distance Between us and there.
If we use the numbers I got on a picture on the NASA (Hooray) website, we get.
225+25=Distance
If you can't do that, Derpy Hooves is smarter than you. Then again, if you can do Quantum Mechanics Derpy's still smarter.
Whatever
Anyway, 225+25=250. Yes. This Means Earth and Equestria are 225 metres apart. OR ARE THEY? The answer is no. What we have now is a Triangle.

But I know what you're thinking. In real life this won't be a right angled triangle. You're right, now go and kindly die.
So, using pythagorases theorem, we get
(25x25)+(225x225)=DxD
In other words, the actual distance is 226 light years. I'm now bored.
