Why do I write?

This is a blog post I've been wanting to write for a little while. It has nothing to do with Pinkie Who's sequel or any individual story. It's also very rambly.

When the huge "Library Update" occurred I had to write a new description on my page. I didn't think too long until I wrote: "I write to explore the stories inside." This is a thought that has been floating in my head for a long while and I have never gotten around to expressing it.

The only reason I write anything leisurely is that I want to play that story out. I don't do it specifically to entertain anyone. Not to say I don't try to, but that isn't the main reason. I think of stories all the time and I only know small pieces of the story. Maybe a plot point that it's based on or one that would be in the middle. Originally I would forget it or I would play it out a little bit before I would fall asleep. I never would write them down or think out a full story. That is until one day over a year ago. I had a thought that I expressed to my regional Brony Facebook group:

"What if Pinkie Pie is a timelord that just lost her memory-filled pocket watch? Someone should write that fan fiction. I would read it."

Needless to say, no one wrote it. So I took the plunge and wrote the first chapter, posting it to Fimfiction shortly after. Encouraged by feedback I continued until I hit roughly the third chapter. That was where my original idea ran out. From that point on I had to chug along with little to no idea how the story would play out. Then I began to see the story written before me. Ideas rising and falling as I continued with the story. Until I decided to end it, with ideas to spare. After I finished Pinkie Who, I continued to write using the energy from Pinkie Who. Nothing particularly good, but I kept writing.

Now I am here, writing out the stories I want to read. Unfortunately some stories are fighting the others for dominance. This means I have a bunch of half written stories. This is why I haven't posted anything. Mostly because I have nothing quite ready. In fact the story I am mainly working on I might not be able to post because I haven't quite gotten permission from those who own the OC's I selfishly used.
